An Exclusive Sneak Peek at VF Guild Raid Features!

The Spark

It has been an incredible journey for all of us since the launch of Valiant Force, the team has learned a lot, and we are still excited to see players leveling up and battling in the Arena every day. However, we have always had a bigger vision for the game’s cooperative gameplay potential, and we knew that is what everyone was waiting for… The chance to battle together.

So we sat down and started to imagine an experience where players could use the heroes they have collected to battle alongside guildmates towards a common goal. Not just another event-style goal with waves of enemies… We wanted truly epic boss battles! Battles that require different strategies, huge DPS, and drop incredible rewards! Introducing Guild Raid Dungeons!

The Design

We wanted to recreate the classic raid dungeon experience that everyone knows and loves. Each stage of a raid dungeon will be a unique and epic challenge of its own, putting players in a variety of settings against bosses that have diverse skill sets. The boss’ HP amount will be shared and visible to all guild members, so with each run players can try to contribute as much damage as they possibly can. Guilds will need to strategically adjust their formations with different hero combinations to punish a boss’ weaknesses, coordinate their members’ efforts, and focus DPS on specific targets.

The best part about Raid Dungeons is that they will not cost any Energy. Instead, entering a raid dungeon will require Raid Keys, which will refresh for all players daily! This means that players will have chances every day to arrange their strongest hero lineup and dish out as much DPS as possible. The focus not on spending energy, but on tactical, cooperative gameplay.

The Glory

So the big question is, what kind of rewards will players get when they finally bring down one of these mighty bosses? Defeating each boss will reward players with special tokens that can be used at the Guild Merchant to exchange for pieces of exclusive equipment sets. These special equipment sets will be some of the most powerful (and most difficult to obtain) in all of Arathos. You may want to keep an eye out for some legendary items that grant new hero skills!

The Beta

You think your guild has what it takes to survive the gauntlets of the Raid Dungeons? Your chance to prove your guild’s true strength will arrive 9th March 2017. Do note that this is just the beta version, and changes will be made over the course of the next few weeks. This is a feature that the team can’t wait to release to the players, and we hope that you are as excited as we are! See you in the dungeons!

Guild Raid FAQ

Q: Is the Guild Raid a permanent feature?
A: Yes, the Guild Raid is a permanent feature where players with guilds can enter for a limited number of time daily (resets at 5:00 AM server time daily).

Q: How long does it take for the raid bosses to reset?
A: Raid bosses reset weekly at Thursday, 5:00 AM server time  (GMT +8).

Q: What is the entry requirement for guilds?
A: 1. Guild must be at least level 10.
2. Guild member must have cleared Heroic stage, 24-3. 

Q: Why is it currently in “Beta”?
A: Although tested intensively by our team, situations might change drastically when a larger group of players try out the feature. Hence, changes might be made over the next few weeks to balance certain elements (difficulty, drop rate, equipment stats, etc). 

Q: Will data be wiped after the beta?
A: No, nothing will be wiped. All achievements and equipment will remain as they are. 

Q: Aren’t the Raid Bosses just monsters placed in a different map?
A: No, as guild members might find out later, there is more than meets the eye for these massive raid bosses.

Q: Is there a guild ladder to see which guilds are the best?
A: No, there is no guild ladder. However, within each guild, there will be a contribution ladder for the guild members.

Q: Guild Raid = Guild Conquest?
A: No, Raid and Conquest are 2 different guild features.

Important: 

Please be informed that players who leave their Guild cannot entered the Raid Dungeon until the next week of reset (Thursday).

[Beta Version Update 1]

Dear Valiants,

Thank you for all your feedback thus far regarding the beta version of the new Guild Raid system.  

Based on community suggestions and internal testing, we have now revised the difficulty of first 2 raid bosses.
We are also currently working on some upcoming improvements:
  • Guild quest revamp, with new quests related to Guild Raid 
  • Guild members to be rewarded for achieving certain milestones even if the raid boss is not defeated 
More rewarding changes are being planned, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, each and every feedback is valuable, so please continue to give us your thoughts in the forum.  Thank you for your support!

[Beta Version Update 2 - 30th March 2017]

Dear Valiants,

Thank you for all your feedback thus far regarding the beta version of the new Guild Raid system.  

Based on community suggestions and internal testing, we have revised the difficulty of first 2 raid bosses on 30th March 2017.

Please take note that the update is now live.

Emerald Serpent

1. Reduce Head attack by 30%
2. Reduce Tail attack by 30%
3. Reduce Head defense by 30%
4. Reduce Tail defense by 30%
5. Reduce Mini Snake attack by 25%
6. Reduce Mini Snake defense by 25%
7. Increase “Sting” skill CD from 1 to 2 turns
8. Slightly reduce overtime damage from “Acid pool” skill for both phases
9. Slightly reduce damage caused by “Venom Curse” skill for both phases
10. Slightly reduce damage caused by “Tail Swept” skill for both phases

Important note: The skill damage for Emerald Serpent's "Venom Curse I" was bugged, causing it to deal extremely low damage. It will be fixed on 30th March at 13:30 server time (GMT +8).

Cyclops Chieftain

1. Reduce Head attack by 30%
2. Reduce Arms attack by 30%
3. Reduce Head defense by 30%
4. Reduce Arms defense by 30%
5. Reduce Ogre attack by 20%
6. Reduce Ogre defense by 20%
7. Greatly reduce damage caused by “Cyclops Gaze” skill for both phases
8. Slightly reduce damage caused by “Earth Spike” skill for both phases

We will have a new Developer Blog on the upcoming changes to the Guild Raid and game! The Developer Blog will be ready by next week, and we can't wait to share the details with everyone.

Guild Raid update [06 April 2017]
Treant Boss (3rd Raid Boss)
  • Slightly reduce the defense value required to resist sleep effect from skill [Sleep Pollen] for both phase 1 and 2.
  • Slightly reduce the magical value required to resist charm effect from skill [Charm Pollen] for both phase 1 and 2.
  • Reduce sleep effect from skill [Sleep Pollen] from 2 turns to 1 turn for phase 1 only.
