Patch Notes - 27th October 2016

Important:

Please note that not all changes are reflected in the list below. 

Event: 

- Time-limited Halloween “Horde mode” event added

- New Event Ladder
Players can challenge each other to receive awesome rewards (given out after the end of the event)

- New Event Bazaar 
Exclusive shop that allow players to exchange event tokens (Pumpkin Head this time) for various items, including Halloween Gacha Ticket, 5-Star Bone Wings, and more!

- Halloween Garrison Skin
Enjoy the Halloween night view of Arathos! Pumpkins have invaded the Gold Mine and Capitol events!

- Introducing new 5-Star monsters with passive skill (Aura)

- New Halloween event Ranger class hero, Winry Reinholt (only via Hero Summoning)
Winry Reinholt will be boosted when fighting in the Halloween event!

General:

- Arena Shop
Will be selling selectable 3-Star arena heroes 
Will be selling new arena loot box, limited to one per day

- Market
Items such as Gold Hammer, Rune Tickets, and more will be purchasable in the Market structure (within the Garrison)

- Meal Time energy will increase from a minimum of 6 to 12 to be received in Post Office building (mailbox)

- UI improvement for heroes page to prepare for potential upgrades to 4 or 5-Star in future updates

- UI improvement for Valiant heroes

- UI improvement for Equipment items

- Increased Monster cards drop rate

- Balancing done on Capitol Event (Legendary) 

- Several bug fixes implemented

Equipment: 

- Weapon Enhancement 
Weapon can now increase rarity
Example: A 2-Star weapon can now be enhanced to 3-Star, all the way up till 6-Star

Monsters:

- The 2 new 5-Star Monsters from the Halloween “Horde mode” event, Skeleton King and Zombie Bruiser, will come equipped with passive skills (Aura)

- All 3-Star and above monsters (old and new) will not be able to equip runes

Runes:

- Runes are obtainable in Mission Campaign maps from Heroic mode onward

- Capitol event will drop higher rarity Stats Runes

- Skill Runes have been revamped in the patch after official SEA launch, thus we are removing Skill Runes exchange in Arena Shop

New Features:

- New Guide Quest
To allow new players and existing players to learn more about the features of Valiant Force and to help new players obtain more rewards by completing these quests

- X2 Battle Speed
This function will only unlock after Normal mode campaign is completed

- Hero Card locking mechanism

- Equipment locking mechanism

- Battle Chat (chatting during combat and Arena)

- Critical percentage (%) will be shown in Hero detail page under CRIT stats

Voiceover:

- All heroes will receive brand new voiceovers recorded by a Japanese studio. These are performed by both veteran and up-and-coming voice actors/ actresses.

Hero Progression:

- Stats has been redistributed for a better experience. While there will no longer be stats drop when player upgrades their heroes from +0 to +1 and +1 to +2, fusion bonus will now be 10%.

Player Name Changes:

- Existing players will have their names changed to that of their Player ID’s, and given a free chance to change it

- Players have to proceed to their in-game profile page to perform the name change

- After the free name change, players will not be able to change it anymore

Minor adjustment to 5-Star heroes:

Due to stats increment for 5-Star heroes, the Experience Points required to reach each level will also see a slight increment. 

Some 5-Star heroes will see a slight decrease in their Experience Points meter.

5-Star heroes who are already at the maximum level will not be affected.

5-Star heroes who have only a very small amount of Experience Points will not drop down a level, but Experience Points will drop down to zero.

Hero skills changes

Developer Comments:

1. We have taken notes from community feedback that melee units are currently not as useful as they should be, especially in the arena. We are balancing melee units in this launch patch to allow them to fulfil their intended roles.

2. We have also heard your comments about the Mystic class being overpowered, and we tend to agree after intense internal testing. Mystic class skill damage will be balanced to deter instant wipe-out of the enemy squad, as we have always wanted players to enjoy a more tactical gameplay experience in the arena. 

3. Heroes who are least used, as per data collected, have been revamped. We are hoping this will add more options when players choose their squads for either PVE or the arena. 

4. Skill damage and healing amount will be reduced in the arena only. This move is to allow players to depend less on these 2 functions and enjoy the tactical gameplay in the arena while not preventing progression in PVE content.

5. Passive skills percentage (%) will be slightly reduced to prevent the abuse of certain formations.

6. Majority of skills that were initially based on “All targets” will be changed to 3x3 grids instead to encourage tactical gameplay.

General Updates:

- Melee units’ (Guardian, Champion & Shadow) distributed stats will be increased 10-15% more than Ranged units’ (Mystic, Range & Healer).

- DEF now also provides MAG (Magical Resistance) which will allow melee units to tank and handle skill damage better. We will continue to monitor this change when it goes live. 

- The maximum cap for Resistance Rating will be set higher to avoid magic-based classes reaching maximum resistance earlier than intended by the dev team.

Arena Update:

- All skill damage will be reduced in arena only

- All healing amount will be reduced in arena only

Classes Update:

Guardian Active Skills

- Holy Defender & Paladin (Victoria & Darrion) to increase buff duration from 2 turns to 3 turns
- Holy Defender & Paladin (Victoria & Darrion) skill cooldown (CD) is reduced from 6 to 5 turns
- Chaos Knight (Darrion & Victoria) will now deal damage to single target and the skill cooldown (CD) is reduced from 6 to 5 turns
- Blood Knight (Darrion & Victoria) skill will receive an increase in Leech percentage (%)

Guardian Passive Skills

- Increase triggered buff duration from 2 turns to 3 turns

Champion Active Skills

- Reduce area-of-effect (AOE) skill damage by 10-15%

Champion Passive Skills

- Skills that activate Stun & Knockback will trigger higher damage, from 50% to 70% (20% increment)
- Increase triggered buff duration from 2 turns to 3 turns

Shadow Active Skills

- Magebane & Samurai (Kai & Shizu) have received a significant change to their area-of-effect (AOE) skills. The skill grid pattern has changed to “+” instead of “x” and “ALL”
- Ninja (Kai & Shizu) skill which triggers the “swap” effect has its cooldown (CD) reduced from 7 to 5 turns
- Assassin (Kai & Shizu) skill cooldown (CD) has been reduced from 7 to 5 turns

Shadow Passive Skills

- Samurai (Kai) poison damage has been replaced with trigger attack instead
- All poison damage is reduced by 15% 
- Skills that activate Stun & Knockback will trigger higher damage, from 50% to 70% (20% increment)

Mystic Active Skills

- Skills which previously target “ALL” will be replaced with “3x3” grids except for Rune Magus
- Skill damage is reduced by 10-15% 
- Invoker (Isabella) skill will now silence one single target instead of all enemies
- Mind Warder (Zedd & Kiera) skill cooldown (CD) has increased from 6 to 7 turns
- Rune Magus (Zedd & Kiera) skill will now deal damage to all enemies and skill cooldown (CD) has reduced from 7 to 6 turns

Mystic Passive Skills

- All poison damage is reduced by 15% 
- Skills that activate Stun & Knockback will trigger higher damage, from 50% to 70% (20% increment)
- Increase triggered buff duration from 2 to 3 turns

Healer Active Skills

- Reduce Party Healing power by 15-20%
- Increase Party Healing skill cooldown from 6 to 7 turns
- Reduce Single Healing skill cooldown from 6 to 5 turns
- Balanced Spirit Walker (Luthor, Teresa & Lucille) to have shorter cooldown (CD) for utility skills 
- Witch Doctor (Lucille) skill cooldown (CD) has been reduced from 7 to 6 turns

Healer Passive Skills

- Archbishop (Lucille) passive trigger duration increased from 1 to 2 turns
- Increase triggered buff duration from 2 to 3 turns
- Reduced triggered Healing Power by 20%

Ranger Active Skills

- Grand Ranger (Cybella & Kane) skill cooldown (CD) has been reduced from 7 to 6 turns and reduce the debuff condition casted on enemy by 1 turn 
- Royal Huntsman (Cybella & Kane) skill cooldown (CD) has been reduced from 6 to 5 turns
- Balanced Gunslinger (Cybella & Kane) to be able to cast skill with condition at a faster rate but with lower damage
- Sharpshooter (Cybella & Kane) skill cooldown (CD) has been increased from 6 to 7 turns

Ranger Passive Skills

- Grand Ranger (Cybella & Kane) will now have the Hunter job’s passive skill instead
- Royal Huntsman (Cybella & Kane) revamped as support heroes in squads
- Improved critical trigger chance from 75% to 95% and damage dealt from 80% to 100%
- Sharpshooter (Cybella) will now have the Marksman job’s passive skill instead

Bug Fixes:

- Passive Poison will trigger for a fixed 2 turns instead of random 1-2 turns previously
- Fixed game error caused by the “burning ground” skill effect
- Dragoon (Freya) will now achieve 100% stun with her active skills now
- Walls will not count towards heroes’ killing points anymore
- Spirit Walker & Witch Doctor (Lucille) Skill to heal over 3 turns instead of 2 turns
- Elementalist (Kiera) “burning ground” skill effect will last for 2 turns instead of 3 turns
