2000 + 2000 is the way to go..

5* + 1200 only got you 1200 gem + about 1200 prestige ( not sure but definitely not 4k prestige ) and random 5* hero which seems good for starter but not good in the long run, especially if got bad job and bad faith hero.

With 2000 + 2000 you get 4000 gem and 4000 prestige. You can get 5 * eq from prestige. And with 2800 more gem you easily can get 3-10. 5* capable hero based on your luck. Or you can just use your gem to buy all that 2 x gold event, or use it to buy gold daily event key chance.

You need Lot Lot Lot of gold in this game.

I disagree with the gem part, but I'm with you there on the gold part...
My lack of gold is biting me even now... about 3 potential 5* still at 3*, 5 potential 4* still 3*... 

Just want to clarify that my post about 2000 + 2000 gem is the way to go is to answer mixmax's question about choose 2000+2000 or 1200+ 5* hero bundle. And he said this choose is not no brainer.. need to consider.. so i give him a reason.. why 2000+2000 is better than 1200+5* bundle.

Not my opinion about all of this thread.

About best way to spend $ it is the same with everyone else.. 2 x event and every bundle that have time (early bird, halloween bundle). And best way to spend gem is to buy 2 x event gold, buy 1 time each day for gold mine daily event key and key job. Just 1 time not more.

Best way to spend $$:

1) Packages are the way to go. Starter Pack, Early Bird Pack are very, very helpful. BUT, you might want to hold off on collecting the pack rewards until you need them. Do take note that they last for only 3 days ^^. Other packages offered include the following:
- Job Key ? package. Appears when job keys are first used up daily.
- Advantage ? bundle. Appears after first fight after reset daily.
- Energy Package. Appears after you hit 0 or 1 energy for the first time daily.
- Defeated ? package. Appears after the first retreat daily.
There are more bundles, some are more useful imo, such as defeated package, which has a 3*-5* hero ticket.
2) Emiko's delivery. Low cost, gives 25 gems daily for a month!
3) Gems should be used to buy gold once imo, as the first time the gold are bought, there are given to you twice. So its really worth it to buy them, but only once.
4) $$ should be used to buy gems once. Only once, because, first time buying each set of gems nets you double. Afterwards, well, it depends.
5) Gem usage priority should be on using 400gems to buy heroes, until you can field a team of 5* heroes, so you can fight and clear heroic maps. Afterwards, not so much restriction anymore!

I have bought Emiko, Starter pack and Early bird pack so far.
Since got many packages as you mentioned, can you tell us which others are food to buy?

For me,
- Defeat packages are fairly useful. Defeat packages come with 3*-5* hero ticket, and you can select the hero class you want. So, if you have problems fielding your team, that is the way to go.
- Energy packages are not so useful per se, unless you have lots of time to spend on the game daily. Post level 30, which is possible to rush in about 2-3 days if you buy the starter and early bird packages (I tried lol) and use the rewards properly, I find myself using express tickets to farm for equipment (because you can only get 1 of the 4*, 5* sets from prestige, unless you are a heavy spender that goes to Prestige 12+). So energy packs are kind of useless, because they kind of only speed up your wallet damage by pressing "use 1 express ticket", and gain no enjoyment from the game.
- Advantage bundle gives gold and gems. Pretty useful for summoning and rapid levelling heroes.
- Job key package is nice when you have a lot of potential 5* heroes... which I don't, so...

I don't think there's such item or features to let you select a class of your choice. it's all random.
