Re: 'Complete 15 trials in the event'? Seriously?

My two cents:
When you first start this game, you have the Guide Quest -- which is possible to get 100% completion if you just put in the effort over a reasonable period of time (without a lot of repetitive grinding or too much dependence on RNG). In the meantime, you get a lot of All Time Quests completed along the way. You feel great and motivated to keep playing.

You also are given Daily Quests -- which is possible to get 100% completion in a similar fashion.

Then later, when you join a guild, it is also possible to get 100% completion for Guild Quests.

But then you run into Event Quests... in order to get 100% completion, without any warning, you can be unpleasantly subjected to RNG (the required item might not drop enough to complete a quest), or you have to repeat the same level over and over... or you never get lucky enough to get the right hero composition or event hero even though you spend 1600 gems as well as real money. No wonder some people complain. Maybe redesign the Event Quest so that there is a 100% completion portion for everyone, with Bonus Event Quests thrown in for extra loot like the event hero. That way you adjust people's expectations accordingly.

snip
Some interesting facts from my actual play experience if you are interested.
1) This game is not designed to have easy play. It's designed to be challenging. It's a year-time game not a month-time game. 6 months play and I still cannot beat some trials in master stage of some event.
2) It took me 2 months till I can beat legendary event for the first time with lots of consumables used (Drake & Elemental Chaos event). And it's my 7th event since I start playing.
3) Longer play time does not mean a player will get stronger (p2p or f2p). This game has many things to focus. It goes back to how a player plays the game daily. I know a f2p member who were good at almost all areas since lv 70 while some lv 80 f2p members couldn't compete and she never spend a dime.
4) Many f2p members in my guild have been improving and become better players. If the meta shifts so fast as you say, I believe these f2p members wouldn't be doing good or improving at all. Once you get the hand on useful heroes, they are useful no matter what. The release of new & better units does not make useful heroes become useless. It's just that the new hero can do better. And it's illogical if the devs do not release better hero coz this is gacha game. If the new hero is not better, who would want such hero?
5) Dragoon Drake's trigger cheapens the effort of players who invest time to build well-rounded squad, as you can only have good stats and well-equipped Dragoon Drake while bringing 2 naked life stealing aura heroes along with 1 naked SW kahuna and keep retreating till you get full 6 mins trigger in 1st and 4th raid battles (if you have all the time of your life). But thanks god, Dragoon Drake is not so useful in other areas. (Still, I do not mind if Dragoon Drake is nerfed despite using him myself.)
yes i understand that this is no short term type of game. it takes months to even get anywhere.
So the issue is this, you make your game hard, sure it can be fun to play. However is the endgame type of content worth the time needed to reach there?
The crux of the issue is that new players cannot be subjected to constant disappointments event after event, it just makes people quit.

The meta constantly shifts.
Before sven appeared, vincent zerk was super popular. Then when sven zerk appeared, vincent zerk was rendered obsolete. (yes he is still good, but the difference between the two is staggering to say the least)
Ronan and tali, renders other mystics subpar. You pretty much don't ever see other mystics in arena.
SDD drake is strong now, who knows in a few events down the line, some new composition out DPSes it by insane amount. drake becomes almost obsolete. same with kahuna sw and maybe even your aura slaves.
Archer summoner may appear and be stupidly op, making cybella subpar? Not exactly impossible.
Sure, multiple archers can still be used. Old units rendered obsolete didn't lose their power and can still function. However the power creep only makes problems worse down the line.
For F2P or casuals, its constantly a game of catch up. You are still improving, but the power creep doesn't stop.
Sure, if new heroes aren't strong there is little incentive to pull for them. But this is still a collectible game. There are people who play to collect them all, the art is fantastic and i'm pretty sure many were drawn to the game by the art. Why not capitalize on this instead? more skins etc, Maybe intro exclusive skin for newly introduced heroes that can only be had during their launch event? First of the hero you pull you get the skin unlocked. you don't need to make an OP hero to give people incentive to get them.
Make it a hard game, but the game can't survive only on those players. Beta raid appeared, ridiculously hard, everyone qq'd and the casuals all left. Sure its a lot better now but the damage is done. There has to be an incentive to help retain new players.
Player base is constantly dropping, compare a few months back and now, difference is a lot.
I understand what you are saying but the players obviously don't think the current state of the game is good(people that frequent the forums/reddit etc aren't exactly representative of the general populace. we are the minority). Else the player situation should be improving. A lot of changes are being made and implemented, so you gotta appreciate the devs for that. But mistakes can still be made so feedback is also important.

There were events I wasn't able to finish, incomplete/wrong suffix heirloom sets, 4* pulls from 4-5* equipment event tickets, chicken lord pulls from 400-gem summon and the elusive black sword.

I only sent a complaint about the black sword then kept playing.

this quest is freaking frustrating new and casual players..
All you need is 2 svens, yours and ally. and then it becomes easy.. with attack trigger... you can even kill boss in 1 turn.
