My opinion in for this event:

I LOVE IT.. why because the harder the challenge is the more fun I get! This is one of the trigger that makes me cannot stop playing VF since Day 1
If you saw the Facebook comments, I feel like why people keep complaning for "Easy" game ?? like hello,, where's the fun if VF keep gives us easy mode..

Either they will say it's too hard or they will blame it to P2W players///
oh well, I just have to collect more gems to summon Zedd this time ..

But they can't, and if i was them, i was feel in the same way..
Just wondering why the new players must always on the track with players on Legendary? 
So we expecting the new players to be as strong as 1 months playing players in 7 days
OR you expect the DEV to make the game as easy as 7 days gameplay?
I will be laughing if you are still stating about the sour on CBT players after 1 months later because there will be new players everyday...  
The problem is this:

If you make an event, with a story, but with a limited time for finish, you should even make it for everyone be able to finish it.
I understand that they have to make it easy and hard to make everyone enjoy it, (new players and old players) but in a matter of "event" in gatcha games, where you can lose "plot-wise" some piecies of the games, or where you should miss completly the opportunity to take the even "special item/hero, almost all games around make it able to being finished by everyone.
In my opinion they should keep the difficulty level of the event, but put more rewards on the normal stages, and make the people see all the story of the event even on normal.
It's easy to talk with a full geared account with all heroes limit breaked, even myself have it :)
But your should have even a little more consideration of the new players, because without them, the game is over.

Well someone in a facebook group said he uses this trick to guarantee unrefined gems in legendary everytime (since most people manage to kill 1-2 boxes, but not all)

If you just skip turn during chest wave until the chests explode, the goblin will always come to steal one chest, the one with event treasure.
Now that chest will be in the same location if you force quit and resume to start from the beginning.
He memorizes the location of that chest, and force quit the game, then re-enter and let his Warlord pull that chest to front and focus kill for all the event loots.

I'm not sure about this, someone try it? lol i'm at work and have no warlord
It's kinda pointless to do legendary if the goblin steals the treasure :(
But it's also kinda lame if we have to guarantee our treasure by using this force quit thing.
Those CC units come in handy though :3
Tried it one time. And yes it worked. But only one time so not sure if Its only cause of luck or no.

For those without Seraphina. If you have Mind Warders, Warlords or Elementalist they can be pretty handy in clearing the chest. This is no place for a Tank so build up your skill counters with your Champions by tanking the last mob in the first wave. You can effectively delay all the chest with an extra 4 turns with Mind Warders before they start to go off, pull the furthest chest in front of your Warlord in the middle to allow AOE hits, or do some serious AOE burning with Elementalist. Better if you have all of them, even better with Seraphina.
This guide is solid.. i am using it too.. but change elementalist to archer for trigger attack team.

I tried this out, your mons get lower stats each "reset" you do. Maybe 5% or so per try. At one point my mons had 2/3 their stats.

No, it doesnt work in gold mine. Each force quit will randomnize the ladder location.

Whut? An event where everyone can finish and get the same rewards? Then how would the high level players be challenged?

It is not as if the event does not reward newer players.

I've always thought that the reward chests (easy, medium, and hard) were supposed to be the targets of players of different levels. It seems that new players also aim for the hard chest.

How about letting players choose a target? New players can aim for the easy one and get better rewards than it currently gives. Veterans can choose the hard one but receive the current rewards for easy chest when they finish it and have the ability to get medium and hard. That being said, we'll have players who choose easy then would want to move on to medium. Well, we'll get complainers either way so meh.

It is not as if the event does not reward newer players. 
I never said get same rewards.

I just said, that everyone can finish.
You can put rewards in various ways.

Of much turns did you need to finish, or how many objective you did (kill only the boss, or even the other enemies, more hard subquest).
Like is said in many thread the possibilities in making quests/modes/event are endless.

But what i see right now, is a poor composition of idea in a matter of the overall managing.

Luckly devs are always open to hear player ideas..

Farming Legendary stage for unrefined gems is a hit and miss opportunity. :(
