First of all, are they worth investing in?

What are the benefits of the arena heroes compared to the valiants and normal heroes?

My blood gems is almost at 4k I'm not sure if I should save it for a valiant instead (though my current team ais already great enough that I can defeat a team of two valiant TS most of the time) also, I get to choose a hero here unlike the valiant ticket

Valiant ticket should be first priority.
Most arena heroes have slightly better stats than ordinary 5* heroes, but limited to 1 subclass branch.
But if you are planning to get one of those heroes, most of them have awesone skill/aura except maybe the healer one, for example Kira Ninja path is sooo good he is the only rogue with passive +attack & crit aura and his invisibillty last for 3 turns, one second longer than kai and shizu. Theres also Leah Warlord, shes a good hero for arena with her AOE knockback skill to push ppl away from mid point tile.

It depends on your preference.
If you find a place for one of the Arena Heroes in your team, go for it.
Personally I go for Valiant Ticket
Arena heroes except Kira are not that popular because in general people value Valiants more.
Valiants have better status and since they are the 'face' of Valiant Force they get special treatment such as the beautiful skill animations and costumes.

Thanks for the clarification, I was thinking of getting an assasin kira so that I can one shot my foes as I already have a ninja kai unfortunately. The only valiant I want to get right niw is darrion (tanky and good damage for BK) but then again there is only a 1/6 chance I would get him on a ticket.. haha.

So valiant it is then I guess!

Same opinion with the others, get valiant ticket first. All of them (except kiera, as i don't really use mystic) can carry you a long way in the arena.

Other than that, you can definitely invest in Leah (warlock) for some atk buff, aoe and knockback skills. Or Kira for swapper-style of PvP.
