is there something going on in the arena? 

There is no such thing as unofficial gems, since they cannot be traded. 

If referring to bugged dupes of sorts, we can always detect those

i'm just curious how "Benny" and "Leon" know of this.. 
of course i'm not those top 100 player.. maybe we dont know how their top tier world works..

They have mistook some aspects of the "illegal" gems.

3. Purchasing of “cheap” gems

Scammers are currently tricking players into giving them their account details to "help" purchase "cheap" gems. There are no authorized “cheap” gems on sale, and all gem prices in Valiant Force go through strict review processes before being approved.

Some of the risks surrounding the buying of "cheap" gems are:

- Players losing their game accounts to scammers through sharing of account details
- They might use your account details and sell it to multiple people
- Agreeing to share your account details with others violates the terms and conditions, liable to punishments and limited support

Point 3 is trying to say some people might cheat you for your account to purchase "cheap" gem, how is it relate to arena?

for one, buying arena entry keys with the said gems

Players will still need to field a strong and effective team to win arena battles.
The game developer has monitoring tools to detect cheaters who use modified versions of apk to '1-hit-ko' in arena.
These hackers will then have their accounts permanently banned accordingly.

So, IF by some means those player managed to buy "cheap" gems without being scammed, the teams dont have any tools to check it ?
also , if there's a dispute on gem purchases , will the account be suspended ? (not sure if you can dispute payment made on googleplaystore/applestore tho)

Well, gems sure have direct impact on your arena ranking since it affects your ability to summon and upgrade characters and gear

Hmn, if there are really players risking their account to buy gems from these illegal sellers, in small amounts, how would the system detect? I think it is near impossible.
