Does anyone have a strategy for beating "Capitol's Last Stand" in legendary mode?

I've attempted it a few times, and when I make it to the boss (which is pretty challenging just to get there), his attack is so strong it can one-shot multiple units. If I manage to hit him, it is hard to scratch him. I was convinced this tuned to be impossible at the moment but I have since seen that there are players that are able to consistently beat it.

One player in particular that I would like to invite to answer this is Pikachu - he has been able to consistently beat it (as evidenced by his units all having 3* runes) without a single limit break on any of his 5* units (all level 30), without 5* equipment (only using 3* and 4*), AND without even fully enchanting that gear (many pieces are +9 or below)... so to accomplish this incredibly hard task with so little must mean he has a genius strategy to do it. Does anyone know his trick? Does anyone have a trick of their own?

I believe the trick is using Inquisitor Lucille to cast barrier the turn before the boss shows up and kill it before the effect wears out. I have yet to get my hand on one though.

That's definitely a good way to survive 2 hits.

Havent done legendary Rune yet, but have you tried chaining cc?
For harder bosses i try to time my skills in succession so that i can keep up stuns for as long as possible.

Its a bit more complicated than that, the boss preemtively attacks you before you can get the cc going.

I can only beat it one time only with luck, after that never success anymore.

And yes i use Lucille when i beat it. My team compose of inquisitor Lucille use her Shield when turn 9/10, grand ranger kane for its stun, Zedd mind warder for delay, Vincent warlord for pure damage, and vincent gladiator for its stun.

I beat it cause of luck all my stun is activated and not resisted at all. But thats only happen 1 time, normally you cannot get 100% cc to boss.
Not to mention my gladiator is Hercules, my Zedd is zeus, and my gr kane is Hercules, with still+12 eq it is still hard for me to beat the kamikaze Monster squad, and bring Lucille mean more drop to damage. Even to pass the kamikaze squad i need luck for gr stun and warlord aura to trigger. It would be a Lot easier to have hera gr kane for its stun aura.

Bassically you need to bring high skill damage (sharpshooter etc) team to beat the boss before he unleash his skill, or bring status effect team to stun silence sleep delay the boss so he cannot use his skill, or the mixed/both of it. Boss skill is silence you for 3 turn and the cd is 3 turn so when he unleash his skill this mean you cannot use skill anymore, and his def is so much.

But if i am not wrong MIXA can beat it without using Lucille you can try ask him by pm, he told me his tactic to move your heroes forward so the damage reduction mechanism (front 100%, after that 75%, 50%, 35%, and so on - i dont know if this is right or no) occur and maybe to position your hero not to next each other so when the bosses first attack come with a bit of luck your hero wont die or just die 1 and you still can beat the boss with your other 4 hero + friend.

But i myself not really understand it and cannot copy his strategi cause of different heroes and lack of damage. Well to move your hero and position it means you need to clear the Monster before the boss come, and my low damage not allowed it.

Just try it again and got luck for stun..

I did it with similar stun-luck base tactic. So, yea prolly need a good cc team with decent dps that can tank the boss first hit.

Got him on farm status now after tanking up my team a little. Since this fight is the hardest encounter in the game atm (the same boss as legendary 24-3), its recommended to try after reaching deeper in map 4 (Forsaken Lands) in legendary. Here's some tips for my strat without Lucille:
-Tank up the team so nobody can get one shot.
-You also need decent attack since the boss has high def (8261 DEF, 105116 HP).
-Bring more than one type of healing potions.
-This strategy doesnt need cc, but it can help your potion supply.
***Most Important*** -Do a head count of the number of minion you kill. After summoning 20 minions, the boss will show up next.***
-Before the boss shows up, move your most tanky unit 1 tile forward to take advantage of damage reduction for 2nd, 3rd and 4th row.
-Use def up items just the round before the boss shows up. 
-After the boss attack, heal up if you can survive the next hit.

Ps: Warlord is the mvp for this fight imo. Putting him in the middle means he can attack up to 4 minions at once. His aura also helps alot for minion phrase and his skill pulls the boss in for your melee range so your melee wont waste a few turns moving towards him.

Ahh.. nice.. i still cannot farm it.. still need luck to beat it.

Even i am not using Lucille, my damage still not enough.. and i cannot kill the boss before he use his skill.

Looks like i need to build my sharpshooter for damage but i still hesitate between grand ranger cybella or sharpshooter. Guess i wait for new pve event / ladder and new skill revamped patch before decide it.

By the way Razk do you have friend slot availaible? I want to see your squad. If you have let me add you as friend.

And hope they make whisper or mail feature so i can ask / chat with you in game easily.
