Advise team setup

Mon Feb 13, 2017 12:50 am

Hi, I am currently at Level 40 (heroic difficulty) and feeling lost. I am unable to go past bronze 1 in Arena. Can you advise on the team that I have?

Key heroes:
- 5 star Darrion (Chaos Knight Hercules +1) L12
- 4 star Isabella (Invoker Zeus +2) L25
- 4 star Silvia (Slayer Zeus +2) L25
- 4 star Dante (Lancer Ares +2) L25
- 4 star Aaron (Hunter Hera +2) L25
- 4 star Teresa (Sage Kratos +2) L25
- 4 star Poison Ivy (Plant  Zeus +2) L25

I have been trying to level up the above heroes and their equipment since I started playing. What should I do now?

Arena is very much for mid to end gamer. You should just keep farming and do a few pull each time and slowly upgrade yourself.
If you can enter heroic using the above heros, you should have no problem winning a few rounds in Arena, but to advance higher, will only make your life difficulty.

Read some of the guide already being posted on the forum. Especially in MoonEdge thread.

Right now your hero roster is actually very lacking with no 5* potential heroes besides from darrion. 4* heroes have the potential to be as strong as 5* too but you need good gear to compensate and I doubt that you do.

In any case, here's my advice in no particular order:
_Find some strong friends and add them. You can use their heroes to clear through heroic easily.
_Pull for more heroes.
_Try to complete the event quests. This event gives 3 very good gears.
_Find more friends if you can't do the event.

Hi, I just promoted Teresa to 5 star Witch. No other 5 star potentials.

I have already gone through the story quests on normal and heroic difficulty. Arena seems to be the only place left which is interesting, but my team is not strong enough to advance past bronze 1.

What is there left to do for this game, except for pulling for stronger heroes?

Hi Meiling,
As most other players suggest, you are lacking in strong heroes to carry your game forward. Getting a strong 5 star potential hero and training them to 5 star is but also the first step. In my opinion, based on what you have described, the game still has much to offer.
Aside from the arena, these are the aspects of the game that you can look to optimize and find fun in doing so:
GAMEPLAY:
1) Capitol: where u face mobs of monsters before battling balthor. This will likely require a different team composition as your main story mode team.
This can be found under the event tab and will drop runes which are essential
2) Gold Mine: Kill as many stationary mobs as u can within 20 turns. Consists of an element to guess n plan strategically which mobs to kill to reduce the number of turns taken.
Similarly this can be found under the event tab and will drop gold bars bullions which u can sell for gold.
3) Training tower. Complete the stage while avoiding traps. Drops experience pots.
4) Seasonal Events:  Currently Lord Chaos event battle. defeat different stages n their objectvies to get gems. drops cones which u can exchange at bazaar for epic rewards.
THE GRIND:
Perhaps this is least interesting to you, but is essential too
1) Runes: matching the right runes to complement ur char strength or make up for weakness. also there are skill runes which can give chars extra abilities like dodge or double strike.
2) Equipments: getting the right equipments from drops n enhancing them. Getting the right sets and suffix for the equips.
3) Hero optimization: faith and job class. Most interesting aspect is the aura n skills of diff job classes. so pulling strong heroes is essential to ensure u can pull of ur favourite combos. stronger heroes give overall stronger stats and with that u are able to fight the tougher stages the game has to offer.
Abit more information about the arena:
From what I have seen from fellow guildies over the past 3 months, to climb out of bronze 3, it is preferable that you have strong 5 star units at least 4 of them with the right faith and enhanced to +2. There must also be some basic synergy between those units. Based on your current team setup, even your valiant darrion is not of an ideal faith while teresa is a sage...these are areas that the heroes are not optimized..based on faith n job class respectively. Hence, i infer that you may not be utilizing much aura of each character in your gameplay as of now...which imo is not maximizing the potential of this game.
One other point is that you will really need strong DPS units also known as damage per second units to carry you far in the game. Those units are of these respective classes: shadow, champion and ranger. Mystic has not listed within as they are mostly useful with their skill, cant really do as much damage in typical builts for every turn that pass. defender and healer which are the classes of heroes in ur main team will not be able to carry u far since 5 star heroes can easily trump ur 4 stars n that legend stage monsters n event monsters will prove to be overwhelming for your char.  If i am in your shoes and i face limited resource to draw heroes from premium summon, I may consider starting a new account with a DPS valiant instead.
There is also the building of the town that is essential for rapid progress of your game.
To sum it up, specific to your question on what to do next to get out of bronze 1:
1)  You need more DPS units and those with stronger stats. at least 3 5-star heroes, preferably 4 of them.
2)  You need 4 star equips at +12 at least
3) You need all your units to be +2 max. if they are 5 star. If you still have 1 or 2 4 stars, you need to limit break them at least once to be comparable to a normal 5 star unit +1.
4) Your units need to have the basic runes that give each unit a total 20 percent boost in some specific stats.
5) There needs to be more synergy in your team where each units's auras are maximized and complementary to one another.
Lastly, I think joining an active guild also offers another dimension of fun to your game play.
Do not hesitate to communicate with many other players on discord as well..
Good luck in your team building and hope you continue to have fun with the game.

Cheers,
Frey

Many thanks for your detailed advice and effort to write it. I just pulled 4 star Vincent (Slayer Kratos). Am levelling him up now. Is berserker or warlord better for him ?

Hi Meiling,
If you are f2p, perhaps berserker will be better for vin, freya wld make a better warlord. that said, even if u made a warlord vin its still good n usable. while ur faith is kratos is not ideal, since zeus and ares is best for champion classes, it still has a good attack which makes it viable for beginning plays.
Also, as exi mentioned, do join us on discord :)
The link exi shared is primarily a discussion platform for VF only. It is almost active 24/7 with players online from different time zones from different guilds  hence you can have burning questions answered promptly there as most of us check on discord more often than on the forums. Players of  all levels are more than welcome.
Also if u are joining discord, this is another server u can join: (server is meant for general gaming talk but most players are active n above expert (arena )levels in VF also.)
