Vincent Kratos -> Either Gladiator or Berserker. Both are pretty Decent although I lean toward's Gladiator Personally due to the Stun, but Berserker is pretty good too

Cybella Ares -> I like Gunslinger More. A Low CD CC with a good Damage Output and a CC Attached to it. Its more versatile than Sharpshooter imo

Shizu - My Personal Prefference is Ninja. The ability to refresh on Kill is perfect for Gold Dungeon and Capital Def. Plus Ninja's swap is usefull in Arena. I Find Ninja the most Versatile. Alternatively Magebane is also a solid choice

Victoria Kratos -> Either Holy Defender or Chaos Knight. Chaos Knight is really Good for PVP (Arena) While Holy Defender is for PVE. I personally like Chaos Knight, but if you have a Ninja for Swaps Maybe Holy Defender Might be better. Blood Knight is also an option too I guess for a More Mixed in between PVE and PVP

Theresa Hercules -> I think Inquisitor is overall better due to its Aura. Pick Inquisitor 100% if you didnt get Holy Defender since you wont have a Status clear. If you did take Holy Defender Inquisitor is still a Strong CHoice

Pretty much what Renrashin said. I'll just add more spices :D

(Caution : Lots of text. Will waste your time fully reading this. I were in a trance, and wrote too much. Couldn't stop it.)

Vincents are great for both PvP and PvE. All of his class have their own unique uses. For example, a Gladiator is mainly used for his CC and semi-tanking capability. Dragoon for his utility aura and also tanking. Berserker for his nuke and damage buff. Warlord for his aura. Overall, Gladiator is a Jack-of-all-Trades. He's stable. Ares preferable for all of his path. Zeus is also great. Kratos for more tankiness. Hera could work. Hercules too.

Cybellas are all focusing on CRITS. Rangers have low - decent CRIT chance. Hera is the ideal faith, but Ares could also work. Grand Ranger is used for the utility aura, RH is currently not popular, so leave her be, Gunslinger is the most used for the superior utility aura, Sharpshooter is another nuker that can reach huge amount of damage. All CRIT dependent though.

Shizu also has a great variety of class. Magebane for her AoE CC and great utility aura. Samurai for debuffs and utility aura. Ninja for Ninja Kai Ver.2. Assassin for her CC and great aura. She and Kai are great for PvE and PvP, considering there are lots of people using swapping strategy right now with Ninja. Ares Shizu can go Ninja, Magebane, or Samurai. Zeus the same. Kratos could also work a bit for the same. Hera is ideal for Assassin.

Kai is just the same as Shizu, replace stun active with silence, and there you have a Magebane. Samurai Shizu's aura is much superior. Ninja is the same. Assassin is the same, except this one is silence. Kai is a good alternative for Shizu. You can use both of them together for their auras!  Preference faith same as Shizu.

Victoria, and both with Kratos faith ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Perfect. I don't have a fond side with Holy Defender, I won't talk stuff about her. Paladin is a better choice? Since you can just get that remove debuff of Holy Defender from Theresa/Luthor anyway, Paladin can return damage, and that's good. Chaos Knight is the PvP tower, she can swap, she can tank (a lot), definitely a job suited for arena. Blood Knight, the solid choice for both PvP and PvE orientation. She can tank, and she can heal. Awesome. Focusing on PvP? Chaos Knight. PvE? Paladin or BK (BK is the most recommended). Why not both PvE & PvP? Blood Knight.

Ahh, Healers. I don't really use them, but here is my baffling. Luthor vs Teresa. Party heals? Teresa. You have that one Berserker, and believe that he can solo kill everyone? Archbishop Luthor. Both of their Archbishop and Inquisitor are great. If you don't have a HD and desperate for a debuff stripper, go for Inquisitor. Archbishop Teresa can sustain whole party, while Archbishop Luthor can sustain single target. Both of their aura are great. Oh, I didn't mention Spirit Walker & Witch Doctor? Spirit Walkers are weird. SW Luthor can go Ares and pretend that he is a damage dealer, while SW Teresa can sleep all of the enemies, definitely cool. WD Luthor & Teresa for utility. Athena/Hercules preferable obviously. Ares/Zeus SW Luthor for fun :D

I'm currently starting to build a Zedd, here is my grumbles. MW is good for certain PvE needing to prevent enemies from using skills, the damage from his active is also quite good. His aura buffs people for a bit. Rune Magus is quite fun, he can build the Great Wall of China with ease, knocking back enemies, while also buffing DEF with his aura. Elementalist is a pure magic damage AoE nuker path, useful to clear PvE mobs. Warlock is weird. Anyway, he is great for PvE, and can also join the party for PvP, if you can beef up his MAG. MW is all-rounder for PvE and PvP. (I'm building Elementalist for future PvE uses though. Depending on your choice and what you want to do.)

Alright, sorry, I wrote too much. I need to stop writing long stuff.
Hope this help for your future planning :D.

Yes. For example, a fully limit-broken Kratos CK Victoria vs a fully limit-broken Athena CK Victoria has about 1.5k difference of base DEF, which obviously make the Kratos one more tanky to both Physical and Magical damages than the Athena one.
Faith is there to maximize and idealize what the path is supposed to do. You can cover them with set bonus or runes, but the end-winner will always be the one with the better Faith.
Heroes with 'bad' faith can still work. They are not ideal, but they can still do their job. They are not entirely useless. Just work on what you have now, you can worry about Faith at the later stage, like when you want to climb the arena.

Pretty sure Magical Defense is calculated from a units Magic. So a Kratos will take more damage from Magic compared to an Althena

DEF resist both physical & magical damage, though MAG gives more magical resistance than regular DEF.
