I get what you mean, hercules would only make guardians softer if you had to choose between hercules and kratos. I would go for kratos, but some may wish to pump more hp by going hercules to put more umph on their skills. The increase doesn't really sound worth it, but you get what I mean. Yes, this game's damage formula is a simple atk - def where if def is higher than atk, you would somehow still deal damage, but close to 0. With the current arsenal of OP, he can swiftly make a unit that can be used as the unit that awaits Limit Breaking.Sorry but I just had to interject. This is triggering to no end. For the love of god, please, please never ever suggest Hercules faith for a Guardian even if it is Faye whose is sort of based around that. If you want more HP just opt for Zeus unless of course you never had a choice to begin with. I know you can remedy it with runes but if you want that Guardian to be your go-to unit to LB... just no, never Hercules, please.
From what I comprehend, if someone has higher Attack than your Defense they do significantly more damage. Not to mention I believe faith only affects stats on a percentage so if they have low Magic to begin with having Hercules won't change much, and compared to Zeus and Kratos you get only 500 more Magic and under 1k HP but you lose about 500 and 800 Defense respectively. That definitely isn't worth it at all considering equips and runes affects a percentage of your base stats and having not even 1k more HP on your base stats wouldn't affect the skills and aura that much, whereas losing that much Defense on your base stats will slowly add up and be very apparent.
Look at what Lite said and my reply to him regarding Faye.@Kuu
Yeah I agree, going Herc on Faye is most ideal since her skills scale according to HP. However, I currently own a Kratos, Athena and a Hera Faye - so it'll have to be between these 3. That said, Kratos HP growth is very low compared to Athena, which will make her aura skills moot. Athena has the 2nd highest HP growth along with Mag growth, making her technically magic-tanky and decent aura heals with shitty Def and Atk.
Regarding Chaos Knights, that means they are mostly situational and in most cases used to disrupt enemy formations. PvP oriented in nature? Blood Knights feels like a hybrid between both worlds yeah?
Blood Knights can be used in PvE too yes, and for Chaos Knights, the swapping is situational yes but the damage that Chaos Knights' deal via skill is nothing to be laughed at. If you wish, you can make both a Blood Knight and Chaos Knight since you're abundant on Victoria's.
