Need team build guidance!

Tue Dec 06, 2016 11:17 pm

My first conundrum...

I have 9 Victorias... What do I do with them..... I originally just wanted to MLB my Kratos HD but now that I've got 9, I think I can have Victoria in another class. What alternatives are there with what I have?

1 HD Kratos
1 Crusader Herc
1 Crusader Athena
1 Crusader Hera
2 Knight Hera
1 Knight Hercules
1 Knight Athena
1 Knight Ares

Likewise, I've already had 1 Ares Dragoon Freya, but I was blessed with 2 more Freyas on 10x pull and daily login, with both being Zeus and Hera faith. Should I LB my Ares Dragoon or make another Freya?

Stupidly enough I haven't managed to pull any healers yet (I got 3 Victorias in a single 10x pull wtf)

But I do have a Kratos, Athena and Hera Faye... I was thinking of going Paladin to act as the team's healer. Though I now have a choice between Faye and Victoria...

I've also 2 Athena and 1 Hera cybella which I'm aiming for Grand Ranger... I heard Ares is best but no luck with it, so I haven't grinded them for GR yet.

Lastly, I have an Athena Zedd Warlock along with 3 Zedd Mages (Athena, Hercules, Hera).

GUYS HALP ;-;

Each of Victoria's final paths has their own use and I usually always keep at least one copy of a unit that brings utility along with it; that is, if I have a small amount of copies of a certain unit. Seeing that you have 9 Victoria's you won't be running out soon enough, so I'd suggest keeping one of each.

For Limit Breaking, most people lean on the ever so popular Blood Knight due to it being able to sustain heal via skill and heal everyone in the aura when someone gets hit, you would probably do that, but let me bring this up to you: Chaos Knight can provide more contribution in PvP if your play style follows suit(This only applies in pvp however), Paladins can provide the extra protection in PvE so if you wish to make your PvE team survive longer, investing on Paladin would helpful. HD has its uses, but is usually restricted on mass-debuff events like the bi-previous event.

Worry not about not getting any healers, I've personally passed through act 4 and previous events without having to rely on any healers(since I never got any except as of recent, but I have yet to build them since I don't have a team that makes them viable for now)

Based on your team, your PvP set-up would have to rely on guardians, so that problem's pretty much fixed later on; as for PvE, I don't see how much 10% heal every 5 turns can help alot, so you can't really rely Faye as your healer.

A Dragoon Freya is good, but only if she can survive; a Dragoon Vincent has more survivability than her due to his skill providing more aide for him to survive). I'd personally take a Warlord Freya since she would be of use for trigger teams(which you would love to have later on)

Hera is the best for Cybella Grand Ranger since her aura requires her to crit, but why Grand Ranger? why not Gunslinger? Gunslingers provide more firepower due to her aura making everyone in her aura deal 100% of their attack when she crits and has a shorter cooldown for her skill. I find Grand Rangers use limited as of now since having to knockback an unit would mean having your melees move one tile front or do nothing for a turn.

Due to the past nerf of Mystics, their usage has been rather limited to gold mine and probably some PvP teams, so you can build an Elementalist Zedd in order to burst down a floor(they're not really necessary if you have lots of Shadows, however...).

Thanks for the swift and meaty reply Kuu!

I love your advises, though this brings more questions to the table. Which class goes to which faith? Since all Victorias skills scale well with Def, Kratos is the optimal faith. At this point I only have one Kratos Victoria, which I have already made into a HD.

And since I've already a made my Ares Freya a dragoon, that leaves me with no choice but to roll with a Zeus warlord...Or would Hera be better at this point?

Regarding Faye, are you suggesting that I drop working on her altogether?

I went for Grand Ranger because I simply hated how Gunslinger Cybella looked like... Even though she's actually what I feel to be the best among all. However, all things considered, both my Hera Cybellas are already made into a Hunter...

I guess it was the right choice to not bother about developing Zedd lol

As much as possible, you'd want a kratos/zeus victoria since these faiths grant her the most bulk compared to other faiths; A hercules can be viable since not only does it give more hp but also grants more mag that can be useful when on the process of being nuked, but has to be rerolled/replaced later on.

Warriors going hera would only cause their survivability rate to drop down by quite a margin in exchange for minimal crit rate(you're also losing atk here, so going hera on them is quite a bad move unless you can somehow pump their crit rate to around 40% which can cover for the loss)

Faye is good, my friends are a testimony of that; they only went for paladin which is a pvp oriented
unit, however. I never told you to drop her, I just said that relying on her to heal your team would be too much of a burden for said unit.

Its fine to make a grand ranger, but you might want gunslinger later on as they lash out enormous damage and triggers units around her. I just find grand ranger's knockback annoying since I myself use a team that revolves on swift melee kills.

It seems rather costly to start working on them when all of them are at their wrong faiths at this point...Unless I merely intend to get them there as LB fodder when I finally get the correct faith.

So is it wise to simply work them to 5* +2s and reroll faith or just leave em hanging at 5* until the right faith comes out?

Not +2-ing units will make you hit lots of walls so I efficiency-wise, I would +2 my units since without that, you're missing quite a lot of stats. Faiths are end game material and shouldn't really be take into factor unless you've built a solid team that can clear events with ease/moderate difficulty(just don't use faiths that clearly don't belong to the class such as champions with athena faith lmao)

At this point with my +2 Ares Dragoon Freya, she is strong enough to carry my team (auto) in Heroic difficulty for this current event. Oddly my +1 Kratos HD Victoria isn't truly contributing much...

All things considered, my next character to build is a Faye Paladin. But would you personally go for Kratos or Athena? Athena has more HP and MAG but lacks Def though... Kratos makes more sense since she's a tank but HP stat isn't exactly good - which defeats the purpose of her skills that scales with HP. (Unless Kratos is fine if I gear her up with all +HP stats) Or would potentially Herc with all +HP stat gear perform way better?

After that, I'll probably look into a Zeus Warlord Freya - not the best but Zeus is the next best thing after Ares.

Followed by a Hercules Blood Knight. (Actually, could you elaborate more on how Chaos Knight providing more in PvP if my play style fits?)

What do you think of my current plan?

Well, most, if not all, guardian jobs' role is a defensive type of play while Freya on the other hand, is a champion, whose natural play style is offensive.

According to a friend of mine, going for hercules on Faye is ideal if you wish her to be a pure tank as it provides both HP and MAG to not get nuked more often. Kratos is good, but its only benefit would be more damage and def compared to havinf a Hercules. Having Athena on her would be kinda puzzling, since even if it helps her survive on nukes more often, the sacrifice on other stats isn't worth it ,in my opinion.

Zeus is fine for now until you have free faith reroll units that could land you an Ares (during the early release of the game, mods took poll votes to see if changing the reroll function would be best for the community or not, so its still fine to hold on that Zeus Freya until the reroll revamp comes).

Chaos Knights play the swap style and can survive longer than Ninjas due to their natural tankiness. Also, their aura provides them more firepower that may be prove helpful in crucial times.

Your plan is fine really. Due to your units mostly being guardians, you may hit some walls that require you to deal huge damage while keeping your units alive (18-3 and 24-3 in legendary for example). You may want units that aide on your team in an offensive spectrum (even 4* MLB can prove themselves to be of aide) ; your freya dragoon cannot carry you all the time, so having more offensive units would be helpful.

@Kuu
Yeah I agree, going Herc on Faye is most ideal since her skills scale according to HP. However, I currently own a Kratos, Athena and a Hera Faye - so it'll have to be between these 3. That said, Kratos HP growth is very low compared to Athena, which will make her aura skills moot. Athena has the 2nd highest HP growth along with Mag growth, making her technically magic-tanky and decent aura heals with shitty Def and Atk.

Regarding Chaos Knights, that means they are mostly situational and in most cases used to disrupt enemy formations. PvP oriented in nature? Blood Knights feels like a hybrid between both worlds yeah?

Sorry but I just had to interject. This is triggering to no end. For the love of god, please, please never ever suggest Hercules faith for a Guardian even if it is Faye whose is sort of based around that. If you want more HP just opt for Zeus unless of course you never had a choice to begin with. I know you can remedy it with runes but if you want that Guardian to be your go-to unit to LB... just no, never Hercules, please.
From what I comprehend, if someone has higher Attack than your Defense they do significantly more damage. Not to mention I believe faith only affects stats on a percentage so if they have low Magic to begin with having Hercules won't change much, and compared to Zeus and Kratos you get only 500 more Magic and under 1k HP but you lose about 500 and 800 Defense respectively. That definitely isn't worth it at all considering equips and runes affects a percentage of your base stats and having not even 1k more HP on your base stats wouldn't affect the skills and aura that much, whereas losing that much Defense on your base stats will slowly add up and be very apparent.
