[Guide] How to Use Runes: For Newbies

Runes are items you can use to power up your characters.

A. They come in (I) different shape / spaces / rarities,
(II) 5 individual stats: ATK, DEF, HP, CRIT, and MAG,
(III) 5 colors: red, blue, pink, green, and yellow,
(IV) And 2 different types: Skill, Stat buff.

(I) To start off, we have spaces. Heroes have different rune slots based on how high their rarity is.
3 star heroes have 4 rune slots, 4 star heroes have 6 rune slots and 5 star heroes have 9 rune slots. It can be checked by going to the rune tab on your hero.
A rune could take up one slot, two slots, 3 slots, and so on.
Take note: a rune that takes up 3 spaces gives more stats than a rune that takes up one space
In other words, the more spaces the rune takes, the more additional stats it gives.
A one star rune taking up the slot of 3 spaces actually gives more than a two star rune taking up the slot of 1 space, but a two star rune taking up the slot of 3 spaces gives more than a one star rune taking up the slot of 3 spaces.
This also means that the higher the rarity, the more stats are given.
Some special runes take up more than 3 spaces, and those are skill runes. I'll talk more about them when I reach (IV), but you can skip there if you want to know about them already.

(II) Runes come in 5 individual stats: ATK or attack, DEF or defense, HP or health, CRIT or critical attacks, and MAG or magical attack.
Based on the drawing on the rune, you can figure out what kind of rune it is.
A sword means an up in attack,
A shield means an up in defense,
A heart means an up in health,
A pointy star means an up in critical attack,
A swirly means an up in magical attack, and
None of the above means that it's a skill rune.
Again, the higher the spaces a rune takes, the higher the stats given are, and
the higher the rune's rarity is, the higher the stats given are.

(III) Runes come in 5 different colors: red, blue, pink, green and yellow. These colors have no relation to the individual stats. However, each color has a set effect corresponding to it. And these are:
Red (aka Fury Rune): set of 4, ATK +10%
Blue (aka Guard Rune): set of 2, DEF +5%
Pink (aka Giant Rune): set of 2, HP +5%
Green (aka Focus Rune): set of 2, CRIT +5%
Yellow (aka Energy Rune): set of 4, MAG +10%
What this means is that if you equip 4 fury (red) runes on one hero, that hero gets a +10% on ATK, and so on.
It is better to complete sets for runes because sets give a lot more than individual stats.

(IV) For points I, II and III, I've been talking about stat buff runes but now I'll talk about skill runes.
Skill runes are special runes that take up more than 3 spaces. Most of the time (or probably all the time), they can only be equipped by 5 star heroes. These runes are not active skills, they're more of a passive. An example is "10% chance of refreshing when moving" or "10% chance of dodging when an enemy attacks" etc. Anyways, these runes still apply to the set effects based on color so try to fill in the remaining rune slots with as much runes as you can to finish a set.

And there we have it for types of runes.

B. Runes, just like gear/equipment also have an enhance function and a star up function. To level up a rune, you have to fuse other runes to it, and reaching 100% will +1 to your rune. Once your rune reaches +15, you can star it up. It works in almost the same way as gear/equipment. You'll figure it out instantly.

Was this rune guide helpful? :D Was there anything I missed, and how can I improve it? ^^

NO, you CAN NOT enhance a rune. but you can still +15 them.

For skill runes, 3* need 7 slots, while 4* need 6 slots.
Utilizing this, you will still have at least one more 4-set rune bonus in some cases!
