[Guide] Town Hall and Garrison - Choosing Your Buildings [Text Version]

VF Guide: Choosing Your Buildings 

Hello, ScherBR here, this is a little late but hope it can help existing and new players. This one is the Text Version, I’m working with a Images Version and soon as I complete I will post it as well.

Buildings play a huge part in Valiant Force, and choosing the right ones can be game changing for the majority of players. Bad buildings compositions can certainly hold back your progression in the game. With this guide you can plan ahead a study what path you will choose for your Garrison.

As I am Level 84 in the game right now I can’t remember in what levels you exactly unlock each Garrison Lv, so if you can help, reply to this thread to make this guide more accurate. There are some things that I could not get info into and it’s marked with red colored text, if you have more information on those topics give a reply me or a PM.

Garrison Guide:

As you keep leveling your Town Hall each two Levels you will unlock new Garrison Plots to build a Garrison into. A Garrison can serve you a lot of purposes, such as farming items and resources, using ingredients to create new items or even selling you some other items,

Expeditions:
Each Garrison will unlock one Expedition in the Town Hall. To do an Expedition go to Town Hall and choose the one you want to do. You have to send up to three heroes (the more you send the higher will be the success rate) for a period of time as in a mission, they will be unavailable to use until the Expedition ends. When they finish the Expedition, there will be an icon mark in the Town Hall. The Expedition will indicate the right jobs for a higher success rate, so try to send those to higher your chance of success (3*+ Max Level Heroes can reach 33,3% success rate).

FAQ:
You can: Build and upgrade various buildings at the same time.
You can: Destroy one Building and build another.
You can: Do all expeditions at once.
You can: Raise the level of your spare units to increase Expedition Success Rate.
You can: Reach 100% Success rate on Expeditions if all three heroes are in max level (Need 3*+ Rarity).
You can’t: Build one 3x3 or 4x4 Plot Garrison on a 2x2 Empty Plot.
You can’t: Do Expeditions while upgrading your Town Hall.
You can’t: Collect your resources while upgrading a building (Gold mine won’t produce gold while upgrading).
You can’t: Build two of the same buildings.
You won’t:
Get back to your previous Garrison (Building) Level if you destroy and Build again the same building.



Garrisons:
 
Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 2 Unlocks 1 2x2 Garrison Plot -> Gold Mine and Worker’s Hut
Gold Mine: (2x2 Plot):
Generates 108.000 Gold / Day  at Max Level (more with high prestige level, up to 168.000 Gold)
Expedition Max Level50.000 Gold for 6.000 Gold (12 hours).
Why you should build: Gold is the most valuable thing in the game after Heroes, Gems, and Job Keys. Your gold income will lessen after you complete most all-time achievements.
Why you should not build: If you can afford to purchase gold from time to time.


Workers Hut: (2x2 Plot)
Lessen the time required to constructing and upgrading your buildings.
Expedition Max Level
8 Silver Smithing Hammers for 3.000 gold.
Why you should build: If you want to upgrade faster with a goal in mind (don’t recommend)
Why you should not build: The weakest building to build. Even without the Workers Hut in two months you can build everything in the game if you can plan your way to. Lessen the time will not change the Gold cost for the upgrade, so it will not help you much. Not recommended.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 4 Unlocks 1 3x3 Garrison Plot -> Alchemy Lab and Armorsmith
Alchemy Lab: (3x3 Plot)
Create all kinds of potions using ingredients dropped in quests.
Expedition Max Level
??.
Why you should build:  If you are having a hard time in the stages of the game, Potions can help you a lot.
Why you should not build: Not worth it in the long run, you can’t depend on it as the resources will ran out and keep doing quests for them can be a waste of energy that could be used for something else.


Armorsmith: (3x3 Plot)
Use items to forge armors of different rarity’s. Drops from Normal Quests can make 3* Equipment Sets (Armor and Helmet), Heroic Quests can make 4* and finally drops from Legendary can make 5* equipment’s.
Expedition Max Level
3 Dragon Hide (ingredient to forge 5* equips) for 3.000 Gold (8 Hours).
Why you should build: Forging 5* Equipment will definitely help you in the future, lessen the gap between players (F2P and P2P) with access to 5* full sets or 6* equipment sets (only obtainable from prestige system at the moment). 2 items sets (Head and Body) forged in the Armorsmith can also be used in conjunction to 3 items sets (Hand, Accessory, Vanity) .Forging excess equipment’s can also help you enhance your equipment’s faster.
Why you should not build:
None, even if you are high prestige level player with Armorsmith you can keep forging armors till you get the desired suffix for your equipment.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 6 Unlocks 1 2x2 Garrison Plot -> Farm and Iron Quarry
Farm: (2x2 Plot)
Generates ingredients to create consumables in the Alchemy lab ?? ingredients / day at Max Level (more with high prestige level, up to ?? ingredients / day)
Expedition Max Level3 Flowers for ?? (?? Hours)
Why you should build: If you by any reason decided to create the Alchemy Lab, Farm can help you get your ingredients faster.
Why you should not build: Not worth it in the long run, you can’t depend on it as the resources will ran out and keep doing quests for them can be a waste of energy that could be used for something else.


Iron Quarry: (2x2 Plot)
Generates Copper Ore ingredient to forge armors in the Armorsmith, 504 Copper Ore / Day (more with high prestige level, up to 624 Copper Ore / day)
Expedition Max Level3 Silver Ore (ingredient to forge 5* equips) for 3.000 Gold (8 Hours).
Why you should build: You will need a lot of Iron Quarry to build a lot of 5* equipment sets with the right suffix (200 Copper Ore for each 5* armor forged), with the Iron Quarry you will not need to farm then. Can be used as a secondary way to farm Gold. 504 Copper Ore can sell for 50.400 / Day. This is one of the buildings that can be destroyed when you don’t need Copper Ore anymore.
Why you should not build: In the future, the Savage Yard can break your 3* equipment’s to use as ingredients to forge 4* equipment’s can be better or worse depending on your other buildings.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 8 Unlocks 1 3x3 Garrison Plot -> Marketplace and Salvage Yard
Marketplace: (3x3 Plot)
Sells a lot of different Items for Gold and Gems:

Some of the options at Max Level:

3-4* Hero Ticket ->100.000 Gold
3* Hero Ticket -> 50.000 Gold
2-4* Hero Ticket -> 20.000 Gold
50 Blood Token -> 15 Gems
3-4* Skill Rune Ticket -> 30 Gems
3* Skill Rune Ticket -> 25 Gems
3-4* Status Rune Ticket -> 25 Gems
3* Status Rune Ticket -> 30.000 Gold
3 Arena Orbs -> 10 Gems
2 Job Keys -> 10 Gems
4 Silver Smithing Hammer -> 40.000 Gold
5 Bronze Smithing Hammer -> 20.000 Gold
15 Energy -> 40.000 Gold
3-5* Armor Materials Ticket -> 25.000 Gold
3* Armor Ticket -> 20.000 Gold
3-4* Armor Ticket -> 25.000 Gold
2-4* Weapon Ticket -> 10.000 Gold
3 3-5* Seeds Ticket -> 25.000 Gold
3 3-5* Armor Materials Ticket -> 25.000 Gold
2 Large Healing Potion -> 6.000 Gold
2 Rejuvenation Potion -> 10.000 Gold
2 Cleansing Serum -> 8.000 Gold
3 Large XP Potion ->15.000 Gold
2 Healing Storm Potion -> 20.000 Gold
5 Express Ticket ->25.000 Gold
Expedition Max Level:4 Major Healing Potions/ 3.000 Gold (18 Hours).
Why you should build: The Marketplace is one of the must have buildings, you can buy some the most valuable things in the game here, Hero Tickets, Arena Orbs, Blood Token, Energy and Gold Hammers. Energy always helps at events.
Why you should not build:
The items can be a little expensive if you can’t farm gold enough daily. If you want to build three towers and want to keep the Watermill at the same time. Other than that, no reason at all.


Salvage Yard: (3x3 Plot)
Breaks Down Items and Equipment’s to receive some crafting Materials. 
Salvage Yard is one of the alternatives to gain access to copper ore to forge 5* Armor in the Armorsmith.

1* = 7 copper ore and other ingredients depending on the type of the item salvaged
2* = 12 copper ore and other ingredients depending on the type of the item salvaged 
3* = 25 copper ore and other ingredients depending on the type of the item salvaged 
4* = 50 copper ore and other ingredients depending on the type of the item salvaged
5* = 100 copper ore and other ingredients depending on the type of the item salvaged


You will always get copper ore in addition to other higher rarity of ore depending on rarity from breaking down weapons, armors, accessories, and vanity. You will also get 2bones from weapons, 2 hides from armors, both bone and leather (1 each) from accessories and vanity, what grade you get depends on the rarity of items salvaged.
You can also salvage your consumable items (Only HP and XP) to get seeds. Both in addition to 1 fluids from XP potions and 1 seeds from HP potions depending on rarity.

Expedition Max Level2-4* All Material Ticket for 1.200 Gold (8 Hours).
Why you should build: You will need a lot of Iron Quarry to build a lot of 5* equipment sets with the right suffix, with the Iron Quarry you will not need to farm then, the Salvage Yard can be of use if you don’t build one Iron Quarry. If you are having lots of trouble to progress in the game. Breaking 3* armors can help you craft 4* armors, the same with breaking 4* armors to forge 5* armors. The Salvage Yard needs other buildings to be fully functional, you need the Alchemy Lab or the Armorsmith for the crafting materials be of any use. 
Why you should not build: Salvaging items may not be that useful in the long run, you are better using your spare armors to enhance your 4* or 5* equipment’s to evolve them as it needs a handful lot to be able to upgrade an equipment.



Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 10 Unlocks 1 2x2 Garrison Plot -> Wishing Well and Merc Camp
Wishing Well: (2x2 Plot)
5 free slot pulls with chance to get a lot of goodies:
Options on Max Level:
7.500 Gold
20.000 Gold
45.000 Gold
8 Energy
12 Energy
5 Gems
25 Gems
2 Job Keys
3 Express Tickets
5 Bronze Smithing Hammers
1 2-4* Hero Ticket
3 Large Healing Potion

Expedition Max Level9 Express Tickets for 9.000 Gold (4 Hours)
Why you should build: One of the best buildings! Even if you are P2P; Change to get Gems? Check! Chance to Get Energy? Check! Chance to get Job Keys? Check! For free? Check, Check, Check! (you do need to pay the build and upgrade cost though)
Why you should not build:  If money is not an issue and you can get what you want without relying on chance.


Merc Camp: (2x2 Plot)
Hire Heroes for a day, pay with Gold.
Expedition Max Level:
??
Why you should build:  I don’t think there is any reason, the heroes could help you if you are having too much trouble, but so can your friends.
Why you should not build: If you need help, look for strong friends, relying on rental heroes is not good, you need to be strong yourself.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 12 Unlocks 1 4x4 Garrison Plot -> Fusion Altar and Weapon Forge
Fusion Altar: (4x4 Plot)
Combine lower rarity materials for higher rarity materials
Expedition Max Level
12 Gold Bars for 3.000 gold (sells for 60.000 gold) (?? Hours)
Why you should build: Only if you plan on relying too much on consumable items, again you will need the buildings to actually craft items with those ingredients (Armorsmith, Alchemy Lab). Can be used as a secondary source of gold.
Why you should not build: You can get those materials in quests when you progress, so it may not be worth to build one..

Weapon Forge: (4x4 Plot)
Combine lower rarity weapons to forge higher rarity (up to 5*) weapons
Expedition Max Level: 2-4* Weapon Ticket for 5.000 gold (18 Hours).
Why you should build: 4* weapons are farmable, and with 5 4* Weapons + 100.000 Gold you can forge a 5* weapon. It can be good as sometimes you may be using some sets that may left the Weapon slot without a set, such as using the Maleos King Set. A natural 5* weapon enhanced to 6* is also better than a 4* enhanced to 6*.
Why you should not build: You have high prestige and already have good 6* and 5* gears. The expedition is one of the worst options among all expeditions.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 14 Unlocks 1 2x2 Garrison Plot -> Strike Tower and Shield Tower
Strike Tower:(2x2 Plot)
Raises 200 ATK and 80 CRIT at Max Level for all your heroes when in battle (more with high prestige level, up to 3x the base value)
Expedition Max Level3 Major ATK Up Root (Raises 30% ATK for 3 turns) for 5.000 gold (12 Hours).
Why you should build: Farming ATK+ potions can be helpful if you are having problems with the Capitol at Legendary difficulty. Raising your ATK higher will help you kill some guardians in the Arena.
Why you should not build: Towers can be useful, but more if you have high prestige. If you have a high evolved party and don’t have bonus from prestige level, 200 ATK and 80 CRIT might not be too much helpful. I would not suggest build the Strike Tower if you can get more from other buildings. High prestige players can get way more from it.


Shield Tower: (2x2 Plot)
Raises 200 DEF and 500 HP at Max Level for all your heroes when in battle (more with high prestige level, up to 3x the base value)
Expedition Max Level3 Major DEF Up Egg (Raises 30% DEF for 3 turns) for 5.000 gold (12 Hours).
Why you should build: Farming DEF+ potions can be helpful if you are having problems with the Quests in Legendary difficulty. Raising your DEF higher will help you survive more in all content, even more if you are not fully geared yet. The best of the towers to invest. If you have a high evolved party and don’t have bonus from prestige level, 200 DEF and 500 HP will still be helpful. If you have high prestige you have even more reason o build one.
Why you should not build: Towers can be useful, but you can wait to build them till you have used your other buildings to the max.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 16 Unlocks 1 3x3 Garrison Plot -> Academy and Training Camp
Academy: (3x3 Plot)
Generates 3 4* Promotion Relics / Day
Expedition Max Level2 Job Keys for 50.000 (12 Hours)
Why you should build: Job Keys are some of the most valuable resources in Valiant Force, you will always feel like you need more than you have. If you let the Academy farm the 4* promotions relics you can focus at farming 5* promotion relics with your Job Keys (Preferable at Legendary as you have a chance to get an additional relic when using two job keys). You can also stock up 3* and 4* promotion relics to be able to evolve event heroes right of the bat to get the upper hand at the event.
Why you should not build: You have high prestige level and Job Keys is starting to be an abundance, even so, if you want to max limit break a lot of heroes you will need a lot of Job Keys.


Training Camp: (3x3 Plot)
Send heroes for training to gain XP.
Expedition Max Level:
??
Why you should build: You are a collector that keeps summoning heroes and want to have all them all in their most higher upgrade able forms.
Why you should not build: If you do all your daily quests and all time quests and do the Tower of Despair daily you will have a good amount of XP potions to help evolve and upgrade some of your Heroes without the need to bring them to battle.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 18 Unlocks 1 2x2 Garrison Plot -> Watermill and Mystic Tower
Watermill: (2x2 Plot)
Generates 72 Energy / Day at Max Level (more with high prestige level, up to 96 Energy / day)
Expedition Max Level: 30 Energy for 9.000 Gold at Max Level (12 Hours)
Why you should build: All the reasons in the world. The Watermill is one of the most valuable buildings (for me is the best) in the game. Energy will keep you progressing, will help you at the ladder events and to do more things in a day in general. Believe me, you need to build one!
Why you should not build: Refilling energy is not a problem and you have a lot of income to keep refiling and want to use the slot to build a Tower (I still don’t recommend).


Mystic Tower: (2x2 Plot)
Raises MAG at Max Level for all your heroes when in battle (more with high prestige level, up to 2x the base value)
Expedition Max Level3 Major MAG Up Mushroom(Raises 30% MAG for 3 turns) for 5.000 gold (12 Hours).
Why you should build: You have high prestige level and you have a open slot to build one to boost your Mystics damage output.
Why you should not build: The Tower with the lowest impact of the three towers. As DEF also mitigates MAG damage, raising MAG for mitigation is not worth it, you will get better benefits by building a Shield Tower and if you already have one, building the Mystic Tower would only help raise your Mystics damage. Even with High prestige level this one still is the least valuable of the Towers. The Watermill or the Wishing Well can be of more use.


Player Lv. ??Garrison Lv. 20 Unlocks 1 4x4 Garrison Plot -> Gem Cavern
Gem Cavern: (4x4 Plot)
Generates 15 Gems / Day at Max Level (more with high prestige level, up to 21 Gems / day)
Expedition Max Level10 Gems for 100.000 Gold at Max Level (12 Hours).
Why you should build: Gems are the most valuable resource in the game, you can summon, you can refill energy/arena orbs you can expand slots. You need to build this one eve if you take a little while because of the cost.
Why you should not build: The most expensive building to build in the game, may halt your upgrades a little.

I'm quite sure you can't build smaller building on bigger plots, each plot size can only build buildings of the same size. What made you say that?

1* and 2* heroes only give 10-13% success rate on certain expeditions. That is as opposed to the higher * heroes who give 20-23% at level 1. So 3 max level 1* heroes with full matching class (champion/shadow etc.) bonus won't give 100%.

Armorsmith expedition give out dragon hide not ore. 

Personally I want the worker's hut over iron quarry because you can just farm the material or salvage it.

Thanks, will fix that, those first two I got from other source, could not test it myself without destroying a maxed building.
The second one was me not paying attention when, will fix too
Again, thanks for the input, it was such a large amount of text wrote in different occasions that would surely need some fixing.

Armorsmith expedition give out dragon hide not ore. 

Personally I want the worker's hut over iron quarry because you can just farm the material or salvage it.

Yeah The Iron Quarry can be replaced easily, depends on your other buildings as well.

Maybe you can ask around randomly in all chat/guild chat for required player levels to upgrade the town hall, as well as the max levels for each building per town hall level. :)
