It's happened to me a few times now, all of a sudden I can't select the characters or do anything with them, even though all the other buttons (i.e. inspect and menu) are functional. The only option I have is to retreat or reboot my game, and lose 15 points.
I understand that it's setup like this to deter people from resetting their matches over and over again to win, but it's really frustrating to have to take a loss due to the game bugging out or suddenly losing internet connection. Idk what sort of solution there is to this, (maybe curbing points gained for the amount of times reset, or something along those lines) but I think it needs to be addressed.
