Feedback and suggestion for faith

A bit late to the close beta as I am busy with other mobile games. Play tested it for a bit and kinda like the game so I would like to give some suggestions and feedback because this game has a huge potential to be huge. :D

Faith

The good
I like the implementation of the faith system as it has the potential to generate creative plays and builds. It kinda reminds me of the 'nature' mechanic found in Pokemon. Although you do have a preferable nature/faith (meta...etc) sooner or later, it is still possible to run a different build entirely with a unfamiliar faith/nature which promotes creative plays.

The bad
However at the current implementation, the faith system is pretty penalizing. Searching around, it seems that the faith system is meant to be an endgame mechanic. Fair enough but when looking at the stats discrepancy between a faith with strong magic and weak magic, the difference is actually pretty huge. Around 500-900 stats difference at 5*. With the huge stats difference , the faith choice for each class is pretty streamlined. The tanker should go for the faith with most defense while the mage should go for the one with the highest magic. 

As for the cost of the re-roll of faith, it is also a bit too pricey. Sure it's end game but making a 5* character is not exactly easy and it kinda sucks to be stuck with a mage with Ares faith while you are working on the 5*.  It's actually okay if the faith re-roll is not randomized but the fact that it is random make the re-roll extremely costly and leaves a very bad taste on gamer's mouth (both whale and non-whale).  It is as if you are left with a barely functional character; the whale has a choice to whale on the gacha to get a 5* to re-roll till the desired faith is achieve while the f2p player will be stuck with the bad taste and forced to suck it up. 

I know there is a thread on  methods to reroll faith but I think the underlying problem is not the cost of the reroll but rather the 'faith system' itself. With this said, I suggest to re-balance the stats distribution of the faith system and here are the reasons why :
  • Re-balance the faith system by removing the 'weak' and replacing them with 'moderate'. This way those who are not as lucky on the faith roll will still be able to use their characters while those who want perfect stats will still be able to roll for the faith they want if they desire to do so. 
  • This will also ensure that if I do sacrifice a 5* to re-roll the faith and I get the one I don't need, I can still live with it. Decreasing the stats difference between the strongest and weakest stats will also allow people to try out different builds like Healers forgoing a little magic for more durability. Perhaps you can also implement 'preferred faith' where a specific class will have a higher chance to get the right faith...Not 100% of course but there is still chances to fail.
  • The re-balance will also help in arena. One look at the faith list and you can pretty much draw conclusion that Kiera is probably very effective in arena. Since magic also gives m.def and only 1 faith gives good magic, magic damage will probably be dealing a lot of damage to a huge majority of heroes in the rooster. I think given time, magic oriented teams will dominate the arena. You won't be seeing much of other classes as much.
  • The re-balance of stats by changing the 'weak' magic stats to 'moderate' will allow most classes have a fighting chance to survive a casters nuke (on a side note, i do think mage aoe nukes scaling needs to be toned down...but that is another topic). In some way , this will also make defenders more useful due to the durability increase. This will kinda indirectly balance casters and also an indirect buffs to other classes.
  • The re-balance also helps shadows. I am not too sure about this as I don't use shadows often but shadows seems a bit weak...Sure they have high physical damage but they are...pretty soft. Durability issue. I rather just use an archer and shoot from a far without moving and a risk to get killed. All in all, faith rebalance will give durability to melee classes.
A good stats distribution on the faith will pretty much tackle a few issues at once, so do give it a thought! I will be monitoring the updates and progress of the game before whaling and going all in :D

tl;dr Re-balance faith system to have more equal stats distribution to decrease discrepancy between the weakest and strongest stats.
