One idea that really interests me is to have real-time boss battle, where teams of maybe 4-6 players can be on a quest to defeat a boss. This allows my friends and I to play together, which I would really love to see in the game.

I would love this as well. Perhaps a 5-man team, with each player using their leader unit to form the usual 5-Hero Squad.
