I don't understand this....
I provide a one man squad on arena...
Share my experience and still learning more just to help newbies...
Don't have dragoon Vincent yet but still finding one for whoever need stunlock...
And i don't want all of my hard word become dust...
Just bcuz some people don't choose to play before official release...
I like how this is worded. Literally anyone can play in the CBT if you know where to look.
I would like to draw everyone's attention to these. Closed beta keys were given out randomly to people and not everyone managed to get the key. We couldn't
choose to play if we wanted to. Sugarlemon, while you like how that was worded, i'd have to disagree with your blatantly douche bag reply.
This is because CBT is
NOT a public release and not everyone is supposed to, or has access to it. Perhaps Sugarlemon might have had ways to get his/her keys (by using 2093 different emails to register and getting one of them and throwing the rest of them away) or some other stunt he/she pulled, but it most definitely wasn't the intention of the developers to give access to anyone and everyone during this period.
Let me now enlighten the both of you (and some others who have posted) about what a CBT means. CBT stands for
Closed. Beta. Testing. I shall now proceed to break down the terminology for you to understand. I shall highlight relevant portions to aid your reading.
Extracted from website:
"This stage of testing usually comes right after all the problems discovered in Alpha testing are fixed. As the name implies, this stage of testing is still “closed” from the public, but is much more extensive than Alpha Testing. Gamers can usually “apply” for Closed Beta testing, as developers want gamers to “try out” their game and report any newly discovered bugs to them. Sometimes hundreds sometimes thousands."
While we do not have the figures for how many keys XII Braves released, I know for sure that not everyone received a Key. I have friends who have not. At this point, whatever XII Braves did is exactly what a Closed Beta Testing is supposed to be.
and it continues:-
"Since this is a non-public beta test, most of the time characters created during closed beta will be wiped. This means all characters will be deleted when closed beta testing ends. This is not always the case, but is the norm."
This is also backed by a claim mentioned in another thread by Tackey:-
tackey:
Before the official launch, i went to one of the live event (gamestart asia). During my stay i asked quite a number of question and one of them is arena & data wipe (in newcomer point of view).
I asked:
"I'm concern about the newcomers joining the game facing against veteran with fully developed units in arena & it could disappoint a number of newcomers as they will have almost 90% of "LOSE" rate. As a competitive player *show him my arena ranking #3*, if i were a newcomer i will feel discourage from just arena alone." - at that moment of time i did not know they will be launching event during official launch
Dev: "Don't worry we have something planned for the newcomers & there will be arena league for the newcomers so they won't crash against the CBT players. And before official launch, there will be a reset in arena to promote fairness in arena"
So to summarize, in case it was too wordy and you couldn't be bothered to read all of it...
1) CBT was
NOT open to everyone through legitimate means. If you, through some method, managed to get a ton of keys through some illegitimate way, then good for you. This was
NOT the intention of a CBT.
2) It is NORMAL for CBT to be wiped because it was simply a testing ground to make mistakes. Usually CBT is accompanied by many easily obtainable items / equipments / etc because it helps to enhance the experience of players during this testing phase and it tends to be temporal anyway.
Based on what I've read in this thread, there were indeed many events held during CBT that provided benefits that are no longer obtainable after the official launch; including, and not limited to, free gems.
While the devs way of interpreting CBT might not be the normal standard, in the end I'd respect their decisions having done so. However, I cannot tolerate CBT players behaving like this is something that is completely fair and it is the new player's fault for patiently waiting for the official launch. It is a highly distasteful attitude to have.
