In addition to a previous thread as can be seen from here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1884 , I hope the developers can finally implement some sort of a solution to this costume issue.
I am happy and thankful that a costume has been created for vincent hence using his berserker is much more pleasing to the eye (dont get me wrong, i think berserker was aptly and well designed for what he represents, but like many others simply cannot stand his old haggard look)
However, while game mechanics and bugs continue to remain as a top priority for developers to troubleshoot, for many casual gamers like myself, we have all concluded that the aesthetics portion of the game is one of the main appeal. Therefore, since this subject has been raised for more than a month, I sincerely hope the developers can implement a suitable change to address the issues which i will summarize and also suggest a few solutions for.
Issues
1) Costumes that can be fully hidden and retain stats bonus
2) Costumes fully replacing all other vanity items appearance also
Solutions: Option to selectively switch off the appearance of wings/capes and shield + option to switch off costume and retain stats bonus
Explanation:
Both issues highlighted stems from a common problem, certain costumes either in part or in full does not appeal to the players.
Logic behind why it is alright to hide costumes
While some highlight the potential problem that should the costume be allowed to be hidden, players cannot evaluate the strength of any particular unit. I on the other hand, thinks that adds an additional element of fun to the arena battle mechanics. Furthermore, most competitive teams are always well equipped for every unit and hence that should be assumed of all units instead of looking to see which units are naked or not as well equipped for hints as to which to target. The changes that will come with making costumes invisible should have negligible impact on arena play. Ultimately if you think about it, we dont even know the opposing players strike, defence and magic tower status. So looking at costumes for hints of status boost in units can work to the advantage of some, but it have negligible impact for most others.
Why buy the costume if you are going to hide it? It is not a costume anymore when u hide it?
There are always different players with different school of thoughts, and i can agree with the logic behind the above statement. Having said so, my stance and preference remains that, as a player who has chosen to pay a hefty price to buy the costume, I would love to handle it in as many flexible ways as I can to suit my needs and wants. In such a situation, the change implemented by the developers need not be one that will result in one group of players losing out to another. This need not be a zero sum game type of change. Hence, by offering players multiple choices to exercise based on their own desires, those who like the idea that a costume should be carried as a costume can choose to keep it on. Those who prefer the original look can still purchase the new costume and wear it over under incognito mood, retaining the stats bonus..as they wait for either more suitable equips that will look good with the costume bought before enabling its visual look, or they can wear the new costume with new set bonus but in invisible mood and not be disturbed by its new design, while waiting for the next costume to be released.
This way, both camps can get what they want and it is a win- win situation. Even for the company finance, a player like myself that may not be able to appreciate Cybella costume might consider to purchase it for the stats bonus.
Based on an earlier thread, some players (myself included) have advocated the need to hide certain costume parts to prevent the 3D art from clashing.

Looking at the above ss, we can see how the cape extends out in an ugly manner from the xmas costume.

Looking at this ss, we can see how the ice wings are piercing out from the cape.
In these instances, if the cape and ice wings can be hidden, they will not look awful in 3D version.
Thank you all developers and the forum admins for the handwork addressing the players concerns, I really appreciate it!
Hope you guys can really effect this change in the next update asap as it has been an issue highlighted for a long time.
Cheers,
