The costumes are not a game changer. If its too expensive for you, you will just have to skip it. Though to be honest, I was a somewhat surprised how expensive the Faye costume is, but I really wanted it. So I still bought it without regret despite it being overpriced. And if you should ask, I am not a P2W player. I never am in any game.  My prestige level is only level 3.  However, I already made it to the top 10 arena rankings, and I actually never thought I could do it that easy. But I would have to concede, the top 5 rankings are for the whales already. This is the beauty of playing F2P or playing with minimal spending, if gives you greater satisfaction if you could actually outmatch other players who are spending a ton of money compared to you, and that is part of the challenge I love and look forward to in any game I play.
You are not on topic, nobody here says they want costumes to progress in game and do you really think the people here actually care what your achievements are? No one here would give a damn even if you are top 1 as F2P. Costumes are only to look pretty, the small bonus stats don't even matter to some people. Being F2P or P2W has got nothing to do with this topic.

All F2P games(business) are here to milk your money. People need to get this in their mind.

Business can choose whatever they wanna sell, costumer can choose whatever they wanna buy.
Its very common to have expensive costume. I personally bought some costumes/vanity item in Dota2 and TF2 that range from 50-100 dollars. Im fine with it, i love the game.

Imo,this werent be much of a issue if  the costume starts with 10-15 valianite instead of 400 gems.
VF Gems are easily acquired, lets say you go for the cheapest IAP,  emiko package + do daily.
15 + 25 = 40 gems a day.
40 X 28 days = 1120 gems
Adding event gems, thats another 300-400 gems every fortnight
adding arena 100 gems/week

1120 + 300 + 100*4 = 1.8k gems
you can spend 900 gems every event.
thats 1X costume + 10xpull just by buying emiko package.

6 SGD monthly give you 2X pull + 2X costume. If this isnt cheap enough already, i dont know what is.
From a business POV, the costume is really under-priced. Its supposed to milk the whales. 400 gems was a mistake imo, its too cheap.

If people are really unhappy about the price/situation, they can just choose not to buy. Thats the easiest way to get noticed by devs.
Supply and demand.

Prestige 8 here btw.

Dude, don't be so bitter.  To simplify my message to you, I was simply stating that as a minimum spending player, it took me quite some time to save 15 valianites as compared to a high paying player, 15 valianite would be peanuts.  The point is, it did not matter to me whether it was expensive or not because like I said costume is not a game changer, so if a player cant afford it, it would not affect his progress in the game as compared to others who can easily afford it. I only stated my arena rank advancement in trajectory to my entire message is because I want to point out, most of the mechanics of the game that can make you compete against a high paying player are also available to the nonpaying or low paying player. I hope thats simple enough for you.

It's clear you are the one who failed to grasp the message. Your achievements are commendable for a near-f2p player, but it doesn't mean that these changes that will follow the sale of this costume are not going to affect you.

Should this go unopposed, this game will be headed in the direction where game mechanics could be forcefully changed such that only through a massive paywall can you rise above your competitors. As a matter of fact, small-time paying players like you are going to be hit the hardest when these changes do come as you can no longer compete with anyone that pays just enough to climb over the paywall, something you can't afford.

Again, plain and simple, its only a costume. Whatever price the VF team wants to put it, is really not a big issue. Like so many games I've played, most costumes are exorbitantly priced.  They are just for aesthetics.  I still see no trend that the VF team are deliberately increasing most of the price bundles and that we need to start worrying already.

Costumes can still be considered P2W. In a mirror match, all enemy units are using costumes, yours doesn't but all has the same gears and unit levels. The one that has the edge will be the one who paid for the costumes. As long as there is that possibility, it is a P2W item.

P.S. Today, I didn't even bother thinking twice spending on Mobius FF instead of VF. The ridiculous price increase along with the "obvious" cash grab on the bundle is way too disgusting for my tastes. The bundle is literally "Hey, here's a good offer where you don't need to pay 5x400 gems just to get 15 Valianites, just give us money and it's all yours".

That's because you don't see the moral dilemma the developers put themselves through when they decided to put Faye's costume up for sale in either straight-up cash or an exorbitant 15 valianites. They deliberately decided to monetize off of our positive feedback of her and her dominance in the arena through such a sale, as already shown in their sale of faith-reroll pixies earlier. They are headed down a slippery slope if we don't oppose this here and now.

Not exactly my point. What worries me most is the slippery slope they are headed down. Even for a P2W player like you, it is gonna be a substantial sum that you have to make on a continuous basis and not just a 1-time basis.

I'm Prestige 13 and I still think 15 Valianite is expensive for a costume. We didn't even have a launch discount for this one.
I have to admit I bought the bundle because I didn't want to waste my valianite, too bad the bundle doesn't give any prestige levels ;_;
If the bundle wasn't available I probably would have skipped this costume. I'm not sure if the high valianite cost is set so the bundle seems worth in comparison?

If as HungryPanda pointed out, they wanted costume to be obtainable from various methods, l'm looking forward to a costume that will be a "rare drop" from monsters as mentioned :3
I guess feedback would have been better if the cost for Faye's costume was 5-8 valianite though.

It is not a matter of whether the costume is affordable or not, anyone can afford it if they want to. It’s the massive jacking up of the price that’s the main concern. Some of you are trying to turn this into a F2P vs P2W thing, what gives? People here want pretty costumes first and foremost, some scanty stat bonus come in second.

And it is precisely the point that the costume is no game changer, so what the hell is with the massive inflation of price?  It does not matter to you, then why the hell are you doing here? It matters to us because this is the starting point of something VF shouldn’t have done.
