Regarding to the initial post, I disagree with reducing the success chance because it makes the outcome extremely unreliable and cost more than what a player can earn, remember the cases where players failed even though it shows up as 100%, 0.01% fail chance still means failure can cause frustration especially when you are running low in gold. Also, it can be frustration to select between normal hero and traveler as some people dont really want to risk their expedition reward, making it inconveniet for them to manual select hero every time.

My suggestion would be adding a new function to the town hall, which allows player to put "speclalists" in use. 3 of them would be appropriate. It would works like putting 3 different specialists into the 3 slots at the same time, while they could manupulate the outcome of the rewards affected by them. Specialists can be swapped at any time but only once per day, and they work 24 hours.

Specialist can be:
1. Traveler - as mentioned, the traveller can improve expedition reward. However, in my case they won't be joining into the 3 man-expedition, they will serve as additional support which would increase the reward without affecting the success chance of the expedition. For every level the traveler has, 1% would be increased on every expedition sent, regardless of the rarity level. ( 3* lv20 = 20% additional rewards, 4* lv5 = 5% additional rewards.)
2. Glode Trotter - I agree with the current idea of initial post, seems like a good additional to people who like to do bossing. Except the specialist fits into the 3 slots instead of the "Adventure" tab.
3. Strategist (PVE only) - Allows player to change formation before entering a stage, but it would allows the enemy to move first. For every 5 level the strategist has, the enemy deal 10% less damage on the first move.
4. Military Veteran (PVE only) - Enemy attack priority would be shown, while mitigate the damage would received by the unit with highest priority. For every 2 levels the military veteran has, 1% of the damage would be mitigated, 2% if it is a critical damage.
5. Scout - Allows player to see the enemy stat in PVP, and allows player to make the first move when work together with strategist in PVE.
6. Item searcher - Improve drop rate of item (exclude premium item like 5*-able hero drop or valianite)
7. Greedy Goblin - Improve drop rate of gold item (e.g. gold bar). The drop rate is higher than item searcher.

These are just a few possible examples. It would be nice to see VF with specialist because they add a lot of new elements into the game.

             I have updated the Traveler Class. I realized that it is not fair to reduce it and so as other people are also suggesting it. :) Also, I have took a great interest with your suggestions about the specialists class. The Strategist and the Greedy Goblin would be a fine addition to this. Thank you! <3

Hmm...
I do like the idea of anything new in VF, and I was like "oh, it looks good !" then i tried to imagine it. Sending a special character and waiting for hours or even days to look for the result. Takes days to get some special items "if we're lucky" for major adventure. So, to get all items needed for this adventure, how much time will pass ?

I'm really more into less rewarding quests but funnier and more available ones. Like something we can do several times a day, with a low chance to get something really good.
No expedition, something else. Traveler quest, or idk.
No equipment, no level, no gem refresh, just luck.
Maybe the only thing that could be on equal ground for F2P and P2W players in VF, it could ease many players after what happened with the legacy crap and other... little annoying things.

About the new class :
I don't wanna build another unit, I'm way too busy with arena units, then Raid and PvE units, and spending any more effort into this thing would simply bleed me.

I'm more into something fun.
I imagined spinning a first fortune wheel to know how much time the little guy will take to make his travel, then another fortune wheel to try to get x2 or x3 reward.
Kinda like a three-times-a-day lucky wheel.

About the reward, nothing huge in general, gold items, combat items, recipes, etc. BUT a really low chance to get a valianite, and a really, really, really low chance to get a valiant ticket !

So getting a x3 valiant tickets would be like a 1 on a million chance miracle, but hope makes it interesting !

The devs have nothing to lose with it, as it makes the player more attracted to the game and so builds customer loyalty. More sneaky, it could drive players to buy more inventory spaces, so it's win-win for both players and devs. Everyone's happier and the game gets better.

Buuuuut I like the major adventure idea. I mean, I really like it. "Adventure" sounds nice to my ears, and I want to see how it will turn out. It's interesting.

I think introducing another class will give the devs another opportunity to milk money off of people and further widen the gap between f2p and whales. What's worse is that this game isn't even stable after a year of operation, and it's up to people to decide why this is. They have so many balancing issues to fix and adding even more sources of issues will eventually pile up to one epic failure of a game if they let this continue. Seeing as how the devs seem to ignore issues needed to be resolved and instead add ideas to maybe cover up things they wouldn't generate as much profit from, they'll most likely ignore issues needed to be attended as long as possible and introduce more moneymaking projects.

Yup, yup, couldn't agree more. Please, no more classes, no more "half-OP" premium units, no more 100-men only insignias, or a really few number, release other things as well ! 
The game will drown if this continue...
