Why would people use the sword+ring set though, isn't the heirloom set bonus much better than that?

Yes, but there are a few factor you gotta consider.
1) For those who picked the ATK Mantle last event, with this set, the entire 3 set bonus is essentially better than the heirloom set at 6*.
2) You do not have to spend all the gold and item fodders to enhance it from 1* to 6*.
3) the Heirloom set provides no Defense but Critical, in which for most case, a unnecessary stats for Champions.

spent bout 2200 energy to get first sword. Today after using another 200+ energy got a second sword. Just have to keep on farming, u nvr know when it will drop.

well 1 of them is might, the other wizardary. Would have wanted trinity which is the best but well can never have them all unless i am so lucky to get a third which just happen to be trinity.

I didn't even have 1 to start with. Haha.. but I am still considering to change the ring suffix, because it's much more useful as a stand alone also, than the zodia badge from previous event. (Zodiac badge can give to zeus samurai)

hmm wizardary could also be good. My ring is also wiz but after upgrading it now has 8% attk which is quite good, valianite to change the ring suffix dun come easy.
anyway i just got a third sword 5 minutes ago, wizard.
