Hi guys! MiloD here to talk about the balance changes!

Sven Berserker
I know that many players will feel extremely miffed with this change. Sven Zerk was the only hero to have 2CD, along with a 3CD pet sacrifice. This was great as he was a counter to tanks. However, he walloped everything in his path, with the range of a ranger and the damage of a champion. The initial thought is to directly balance his buffed damage and trigger chance along with the cooldown. Then we found another way. We kept his explosiveness, but reduced his total output. It was ludicrous having Sven trigger nonstop in a turn, turning him into a wildcard for arena. Thus, this addition of a reduction in HP was to ensure consistency. Basically, the dragon will no longer be able to go on nonstop. But he will still be able to dish out heavy heavy damage when used properly to take down enemies in the arena.

We hope that this helps in your understanding of how we balanced the Heroes. Let's all adapt together to these changes!

Hi MiloD, just wonder what you guys think about ranger trigger team? I get a feeling with all these change ranger trigger team will thrive again. no team will be fast enough to try break their formation. maybe only a well equip turtle team can fight against these team now. 
Hi Kazamai! The strongest Trigger teams in the arena probably belongs to Lappy!, Emperor, TheGrimm and Lazyboss! Not to mention SexTornado(woops) and some others whom I can't really recall. Ranger team will always require equipment and runes (and talent points now!) and it's simply not that simple in "thriving" in the arena. In fact IMO, Ranger class is the most difficult class to build as they have low crit and atk and require a ton of equipment to make them extremely viable. On the other hand, tanks simply need to focus on 1 core stat. 

At the end of the day, how did you stop Sven Ranger teams? The same method can be used to stop these current rangers. Even with Gwen, they are still dependent on RNG :)

My initial opinion on Sven's change is that it is a bigger nerf for him in PVE than in PVP.

75% chance to reduce 20% HP is really nothing in PVP - if it gets unlucky, it will still be able to trigger 5 hits before it dies, which is still a lot of damage.
The pet usually doesn't survive till the next time it can be used again anyway (killed by Talissa's poison or other things) 
3 turns CD in PVP is nothing much changed for him.

However, in PVE, this change is going to hurt Sven A LOT... he may no longer be able to sustain trigger because the pet is dead.
3 turns in PVE is a lot of damage lost if the pet dies prematurely.

Is this the intended change for the devs? 
As i read MiloD's reasoning for the change, it seems to be more intended for nerfing PVP, but in reality, i think it hurts Sven more in PVE than in PVP with the change.

Wow, what a response. I take it this approach the devs have taken was to intentionally stomp Sven Berserkers into the ground and make him unusable in all situations then?
I get that it seems like Sven Zerk is totally unviable. But perhaps you need to look harder to see how you can still maximize his strength. We didn't stomp him into the ground! I promise!

I understand the change is to nerf Sven's PVP damage, however i feel the nerf has a bigger consequence for his PVE usability rather than his PVP usability.

5 hits from the pet in PVP (if the pet got unlucky and reduced HP every hit) usually will probably still be able to kill 2-3 non tanks. It doesn't really fix the problem but introduces more problems for him in PVE instead. 

While for ways around it, (at this moment) i can't really see any other way than to remove him from the group since his pet is his main damage output and without his pet in PVE, he will probably under-perform and be replaced - not really an ideal balancing scenario in my opinion.

I have to site Milo this time, cause u can always put him beside lifeleech aura and cast hp shield before the damn pet atk
this is too make we player think of the formation before taking sven into every battle without thinking. 
but i do feel like the pet got nerf too much...

Am I the only one agreeing with Sven's balancing? I'm a heavy Sven user too but with these changes, the roles of other heroes, specially other champions, became relevant again. Thus, introducing variety in squads again. I agree that Sven might not be that explosive in the pve now but is still a great damage dealer nonetheless. He is still amazing in pvp with 3CD. I dont mind the HP reduction of the dragon. It's always targeted anyways.

I just feel that Zedd is still left out.

I think MW Zedd has also gotten worse too. I'm not sure if i want to trade 1 turn CD for a chance to fail Skill Delay....... I mean his only purpose with that skill was the Skill Delay, but now it's not 100%...
