Re: Honestly arena is just a big darn mess for me right now.

It's not just you. No one is safe from losing streaks now.... even with nice gear (I think my gear is pretty decent imo). This also mean it's pretty much the same situation for most people.

After the summoners' nerf, I have been changing my teams every few days to test what works better.

i mean .... my rank is usually 100-70 since the summoner nerf.... and my team comp has been always been point oriented rather than pure brute force...... in my experience with my comp 3tanks 1 stun 1 dps .... with the summoners AI they always do the same thing and most team comps at the top may consist of svens ,aden, talissa , faye ,CK, any trigger archer , ronan(biggest pain in the ass IMO) and some other heroes from time to time like ninja, lucille and kierra ....

i dont really get it ....."It's easy to predict AI. Problem is that you can't find a consistent countermeasure now besides upping everyone's stats to the crazy levels," this is your problem...im not calling you lazy or anything but if you already know how will the AI react on the next turn then you should be able to guess on what would be the best way for you to kill them or win by points .......

"regardless of fighting a whale or not, because when they nerfed summoners they indirectly shifted ALL advantage towards the AI rather than the player. It's not as consistent as it was before, and that's the problem" the nerfs where applied to all of us... how can you say that the power was shifted to the AI.... ugh i just dont get it.....think of the people facing your team arent they having the same issue as you? if everyone is having the same experience as you then thats freaking "FAIR" ...

dont you think you are being unfair to other people who paid or worked hard to set up there team so they can have an advantage in arena? the teams that they make not only get them points but also defy points from enemies facing them...thus making sure that only the strongest or richest will be at the top....
to make it short "its the meta"
if you cant adjust(equipments upgrade , better runes, better stats and etc) just suck it up and wait until it changes and  favors your team comp
I think the point you're trying to make is that you don't understand, so I'm wondering why you're even trying to argue here. Everyone else in the thread seems to understand what's happening.
Again, never did I discriminate against whales or other veteran players. Reread my points again, then you may come back to me once you've understood them clearly.
I kind of prefer the new summoner mechanics. There's a semblance of fairness despite the so called advantage shift (don't really feel it)

I still think the issue lies with Talissa's AOE and Sven's CD. Apart from that, Summoners are just... normal.

Sora Ninja? Needs an expensive squad to be fabulous
Sora Sin? Fun and cool but meh
Sven WL? Raid king, lame in PvP
Matilda WD? All hail the goddess of SDD
Matilda SW? Cool beans, freaking hard to make a fantastic SW (Ares or Athena??)
Talissa Ele? Nice damage output, super hard to use

Problems are:
Talissa WL? Brainless hero
Sven Zerk? WTF is that trigger. Honestly, I can accept his damage as there's practically not a single anti-tank in this game except him. But triggering 6 times in arena is just...

So I find that summoners period aren't as bad as people say it is, it's just these 2 heroes that are causing chaos for players who aren't as well geared.
That's pretty much my point. The thing about the advantage shift is that it really did end up indirectly favoring better geared AI groups, unlike before where it was on relatively even terms.

At some point I kind of believe it's more of an underlying flaw of current arena mechanics that's making it really frustrating or just relatively boring. Anyone can be Top 1 or get a high rank just  by spamming orbs, win or lose, yet they prioritize arena difficulty by making the AI stronger or more advantageous. They're mixing two different mechanics that belong to two different arena systems, which is ruining the whole thing altogether. It's either they should just stick to their guns and just stick the competitive barrier solely to orb spamming ,or change the arena system entirely to key in competitiveness based on team composition, capability for your own team's AI to fight back against attackers, and so on and so forth. Anyway, at it's current state, it's more like a gem/blood token mine that you just do every 5 hours or something that doesn't really serve a very entertaining purpose for many, especially those like me that aren't really shooting for the top spots.

yeah i dont really get why are you complaining about because all i see here is "you complaining that you cant win against other teams with better team and gears"......
look at airkons reply instead of blaming the devs he instead tried to mix up things and tried to find a better way to tackle the arena
i dont want to be mean... but if you're weaker and cant find another way to win against stronger teams you deserve that losing streak.....
your just lazy to adjust so dont blame the arena mechanics for "YOUR WEAKNESS"....

You seem to be contradicting yourself here.

Making Arena easy for everyone will make it like an orb-competition aka mindless grind. This imho is bad and boring.

Giving the advantage to AI and introducing more RNG is what makes Arena games more interesting. Every game is different and you need to find a team that works against most teams and also improvise during the actual arena game itself.

While I find it depressing that I no longer have 95% win rate pre-nerf, I'm finding more motivation to improve my gear/runes and coming up with new teams to tackle the new metas

That being said, I do agree that Sven's fireball is Oped in the arena if RNG is in your favor. Talissa is also really annoying as it wipes out low hp classes in one single skill within the first round and that single skill greatly restricts the variety of viable arena teams (e.g. ninjas).

I'm with Airkon here.

Giving advantage to the AI is good. I had a win rate of some 95% pre-nerf, now it has dropped to about 80-85%. Which means that the player still has significant advantage over the AI. Until the player's win rate over the AI drops to about 60% (in card games like Hearthstone, 55% win rate is considered a significant advantage), I would still go with improving the AI of enemy arena units.

Keep in mind that the improvements affect everybody, it isn't just affecting you, it's affecting everyone else in the same way. The top 100's average arena points is lower than it used to be pre-nerf.

AI Summoners (specifically Guardian/Summoner) teams are still so strong, yet strangely weak on your player side. What gives?

Archer trigger teams still wipe out all your squishes in the first wave of attacks.

The summoner changes have cultivated a seriously toxic arena environment. So much advantage for whales versus dolphins/F2P's/casual players. Most especially evident when fighting summoner/archer teams... It's horribly unfun. Back then it was easy to accept the loss against a really powerful player since they were quite rare (meet Emperor in arena? No problem, he's really giving it his all to be have one of the scariest arena teams anyway), while it was almost on even terms even with slightly more powerful players with full 5 star sets, MLB's and the whole enchilada against my mediocre team full of partially LB'ed characters and some heirloom/5 star sets...

Prior to the arena change I've been able to make it up until Master 2/3 with ease, even before the summoner release. But now I can barely touch the top 100, or I have these massive lose streaks because the very arena teams I have managed to consistently defeat before are now suddenly goddamn immortal, or I have to rely on some really extreme RNG mechanics with Sven/archers just to get past them.

Sure sure,  this is an opinion - it doesn't necessarily reflect everyone else's arena experience, but honestly arena feels less like a fun past-time and more like a daily masochistic chore where you just watch your team die most of the time. I just don't like it more than I used to. It's horrible and I would skip it in a heartbeat if there were other ways to gradually obtain Blood Tokens..

Makes me think the whole Summoner thing was just a huge mistake. They probably should have just avoided releasing these type of characters altogether. If they haven't released them, then we wouldn't have grown so highly dependent on them in the first place.

Quit whining dude ... Its uncool , and btw I got to fight 2800 pts players while I'm still on 2500 and get to fight 2400 pts players when I'm on 2200 pts its like youre on top 100 and get to fight top 20 and up but i can still win and make a perfect even with a team of summoners ,archers, tank, and a team with Ronan ,the problem is within you its probably got something to do with your team build making youre team stronger is the point of playing the game , like rpg you dont get to kill the last boss ryt? You grind , farm and hunt for exp items and up your skills , teams are inconsistent so adapt dude ADAPT ok? Ciao
