This is a rant for elementalist role in the game
Kiera Elementalist is suppose to be a full damage char with no utility but there is no role that needs it at any point of end game content.
Mystic class is a frail dps charcter where most of her damage comes from her skill.
My Kiera has 7618 Mag in battle using inspection
In legendary 19-1 her 7 cd nuke does 3142 damage on Draconian Warrior with 11k mag
In the same skill she does 5970 damage on a Draconian Imp with just 700 mag
In heroic event the greed room her nuke does 4085 on blood splitter with 900 mag
From this we can tell that the game has a hidden magic defense modifier based on monster kinds and not solely on mag stat or maybe a flat damage of 3k from the skill alone.
So basically elementalist has completely no role in any legendary PVE maps in future content if the monster continue to have such high hidden mag def and such crazy increase in HP. Even if she get to cast her skill without cd everyturn she would need 3 turns to kill normal mobs beside the boss and still not done 1/3 of boss hp.
So lets tackle damage scaling to mag stat
I unequipped her wings that gave me a drop of 190 mag stat and a 231 drop in mag in combat
And repeated experiment in heroic greed room, Guess what her damage from skill decrease by 127 points to 3958.....
That is like saying a 231 boost in stats resulted in a 127 increase in damage after the 1.65 x multiplier from the skill
Next I tried with PVP units
A 231 change in mag resulted in a 208 damage change on a 2 star mag unit
I seriously do not see the 1.65 damage multiplier coming into play
Therefore, gearing her mag up is not going to see big changes in damage anytime soon.
So lets just say she more of a PVP unit so lets look into how effective is she in PVP
Using arena practice mode and myself I could easily damage of the nuke and the effect of mag on units.
Using 3 star characters with a mag of around 160. My nuke does around 7k on them which is still much less then the supposed 1.65 x 7618. Thus it is reasonable to assume they decrease the skill multiplier damage in terms of arena.
Next I continued the experiment using the same units but in presence of elementalist aura. Which boosted the defender units mag by 1523 mag.
This time the damage was only at 5k plus and exact decrease in damage was 1908 across all units which is actually more then the mag increase.
Using 4 star characters
A 1523 increase in mag, reduce damage taken by around 1320 from 6800 to 5500.
During the experiment I was also hitting my own keira with my nuke which deals a average of 2.9k average over all the attempts.
Thus a 7452 difference in magic deal around 7k damage
A 5929 difference in magic deal around 5.2k damage
A 0 mag difference deal around 2.9k damage.
You could see that the impact of a greater difference in mag stat in this game is very bad.
So even if I max limit break my Kiera for a 1k increase in mag I am not going to even increase my damage from my nuke by 1000.
In the current arena meta I am at, average HP of back liners is around 7k plus, 10k plus for warrior and guardians
and her nuke assuming you put it off deals around 4 to 5k damage upfront to units and a burn of 1k plus
Is that enough to break panel taking guardians. No.
Is that enough to kill back liners , yes if u allow for 2 turns burn damage and hope that they do not pull off any aoe heals
This is compared to atk damage dealers... Yes they suffer from damage penalty for hitting back liners and range issues but they still can use skills that deals 3k plus to my Keira 7.6k mag
Beserker Vincent can still one skill KO my Keria from full hp.
That is all assuming you can get your nuke off which is not easy task with the amount of disabler around in this game. and the dragoons who can 1hit ko units using their melee normal atk cuz they can crit and skills cannot crit
Her aura for mag is not really useful in pvp due to nerf in heal, useless in pve due to boss insane skill damage
So except for gold mine which allows you to full clear 2 maps out of 10 on legendary, there is no other purpose for her.
Therefore developers, if you claim to try to make a game where all units is viable at least try to make a valiant hero job that has some role in some end game content.
