What do you think about Spirit Walker and Witch Doctor?

Sun Oct 09, 2016 6:38 am

Hello,

first of all, I'd like to say that I know seriously nothing about balance and this is more of a question so people who know more can discuss about this (I haven't seen anyone talking about this here)

Some time ago, I got a Theresa and while I was looking at her job advancements, I noticed that Spirit Walker and Witch Doctor look way, way weaker Inquisitor and Archbishop. After seeing that, I went to the Gallery and checked Luthor's and Lucille's job advancements and saw the same thing. This, added to the fact that I've never seen any Spirit Walker or Witch Doctor on PvP (I don't really play PvP that much so this could be incorrect).

I noticed that these two classes focus way more on CC than the others, but the differences still seem way too big.
What do you think? Again, I know nothing about balance and this is only something I thought could be interesting to talk about!

With the current state of the arena, the higher tier witch doctor poison tick for 2-3k per turn on non magic users and the poison goes off even before both team start attacking. And it will get worse when they grow even stronger.

So, i consider witch doctor poison one of the biggest threat in the arena. To be honest, i personally feel this class is built solely for pvp and not much for pve. Melee class cant do much against them and silence doesnt stop their poison from taking action. The only thing you can do is to pray that the poison hits your magic user class and hope your healer is strong enough to outheal the damage.

I have no idea about the spirit walker though since their skill kits completely differ.

I use Witch Doctor(Theresa) in my team, combo-ed with my Inquisitor(Theresa). My WD's aura is pointed towards 2 units that also gets healed every turn with Inq's aura heal

I'd say that WD is pretty strong but need proper setup and sadly, luck. It's common for me to get a round without poison despite with 40% chance that applied twice. However when i inflict poison to non-mag classes more than one, i most likely won.

TBH i think except for guardian class.. all other classes skills have their own purpose depending on where you use them and how you use them.
just for example Spirit Walker, i do think this class is useful in PvP and maybe in Capitol Last Stand event if you can set a units with skill lock effect. etc
where-ares most of the Guardian class with purely support skill can't do damage and doesn't tanks if the unit wasn't in healing aura. as they have to move forward to their combat range.

FYI i do think witch doctor could be one of the best dps class besides Hera Ranger and Ares Champion in PvP but witch doctor doesn't do much in PvE. so it has pros and cons which makes it balance.
I do think WD is a class that requires players to gamble LOL~! if it poison doesn't trigger on physical class in current meta, you're fu*ked unless you have really strong WD.
