it's really down to luck. the halloween event i got like 6 winfry's from 3 10x draws but the curious carnival event i only managed 1 seraphine in 3 10x draws. and during the aria event when the draw rate for vincent was supposedly increased i didn't get a single vincent in 3 10x draws as well. so it all boils down to good old luck.Hopefully the Devs would increase the rates for Event Heroes to a point where it's not impossible to get them within 3 tries of 10x rolls.
This game has fantastic content which are released back to back and since Valiants are the ones with the best stats in the game and they are hard to obtain, event heroes should be much easier to obtain regardless even if they're 5* potential ones like this next event.
Most players would expend their gems on new events and since events follow each other with promised new heroes released with each one, it shouldn't be hard for us to roll for Rate Up heroes in my opinion. People won't stop rolling once they have a full team of 5*s because the events are heavily reliant on the Rate Up units.
My hope is for the Devs to agree that according to the current event system, it doesn't matter if people can get 5* potentials easily or not, the money is going to be on buying gems to get new units at a higher chance to complete the Event and exchange for their rewards!
Nevertheless, this game is fantastic with great content and excellent Facebook page managers. It's great to see Devs and mods being transparent with players. These are the core pillars to a long lasting game. I'm hoping that we'd get the rate up heroes within 1200 gems etc, just to know that we won't be farming/paying for these gems for nothing since events should constantly be added in and with them, comes new heroes to be rolled. It doesn't matter if you have loads of 5* heroes in your arsenal, it's about getting rate up heroes to complete the Event.

i drew 4 x 10 during sera & zedd rate up.
only manage one sera, but i got like 6 zedds....
if only i could trade in my zedd for sera, i would've completed the event TT^TT
